Too many indians coming to the US will change the demographics in the future.

US need to stabilize with their white population.

What is healthy about this discussion is that it’s all about LEGAL immigration. Maybe we’ve turned a positive corner with Trump and we can start to see the ILLEGAL aspects get under control.

Lots of good questions and we can have varying opinions.

Should the Green Card lottery be equal between all the nations as it is now or should certain nations be given more preference (like the Indians who have Math and Science skills)? I say keep it equal.

What about letting foreign college graduates get automatic green cards like Trump is now talking about. That one seems risky. Won’t every Tom, Dick and Harry Junior College recruit from overseas and become citizenship mills full of tuition paying foreigners? And won’t illegals already here crowd into the colleges to go under the radar. Register using grandparents’ address overseas.

What about the big high tech companies getting a free ride to hire any foreign engineer they want to hire (Elon and Vivek). Well, that one’s hard. Yes, it keeps us strong and competitive as a nation. But seems to me these companies have given up on hiring Americans right out of college and TRAINiNG and MENTORING them like companies used to do. Plus the foreigners are CHEAP. Not sure I would trust all that moaning over how there are no Americans to hire.

I employ Pakistanis in Lahore.

Middle class people - one's wife is a professor. They have sons and daughters that they love dearly and talk about just as we do - one's daughter did real well at school sports day a few weeks back.

Yet in the UK - they are all taxi drivers. The ones I know are programmers, project managers.

They've always said the same thing when I asked about this - and they always say "you aren't getting our best".

I don't know what the fuck is going on - but I have Muslim friends from Qatar, Bangladesh, Saudi, Bahrain - and they all seem pretty normal. Shit - I once had a Qatari cop crying on my shoulder after he had a mild stroke and convince himself he'd never see his favorite daughter again.
