for the cost of renting a 3br house in Aliso Viejo, we can buy a mini-ranch in CO or Texas (we breed Pom's. even an acre would be plenty)... and it seems everyone is leaving for Texas. and I like the idea of living in Texas, but what about Colorado? (or Tennessee? AZ I suppose would be on the top 5 as well)
was in CO last year and couldn't believe how much cheaper everything was despite them having the same Min Wage as CA. except the weed. that was more expensive. going through bout 1oz a week, that's like 3lbs a year. What's the weed situation in Texas?
I know gun laws in Denver are different from the rest of the state. and Vail I believe. Vail's surrounding area WAS on the list until I learned that.
but what about gun laws in CO vs TX?
why the hell don't most houses in CO have basements?!?
property taxes CO vs TX?
Cost of living in TX?
the Weather? I spent about 10yrs in the scorching hell hole of Palm Springs area and hated it. so hot during summer nobody goes out, everyone who can, leaves because it's 100+ at Midnight for months straight. then it's "ok" for 3 months of winter. & spent 5yrs in the midwest where it was about 100 and humid 90% for 3months a year, and had 2-3' of snow every winter. That sucked too... Growing up in San Diego, and now in OC, the weather is perfect, so anywhere is going to be a sacrifice lol.
I'm sure Im forgetting stuff

Texas seems like as big of a shit show as Florida and its a mess here! If I wasnt so old and beat up id move to Reno, NV

Who the hell wants to live anywhere near the cartel though. Fuck that. I would be decapitated pretty quick if I lived near Mexico.

Colorado is a libtard state if that's a consideration.

Sounds like you came close a few times in Mass, too :D

I'm a tall handsome blue eyed Republican white man with muscles who wears nice pants and shined Allen Edmonds. Cartel isn't going to fuck with someone who would bring attention to them... usually. like that Mormon family incident. They usually steer clear of civilians who look like they vote.
"cartel" is usually young kids who are already pretty stupid, like IQ of 85 stupid (1 point above "re tard" and just above the cut off to enlist in the US Army lol) and are also addicted to meth (and now crack for some reason... got really popular among those dudes) and if they fuck up, their boss will get rid of them and their job isn't to fuck with civilians. I'm more worried about the 1k+ "Fighters" Al-Queda has waiting inside the US who're trained to carry out another Oct 7-style attack, than I am about the cartel's.
-

yea I was aware, but that seems to be more concentrated in the Denver and Vail areas. western part of the state seemed very Red (except the snowflakes at the dispensaries lol)
-
As foreigners considering a move to the US, our pick would be Texas.
Texas is Elon’s state. once he moves everything there, infrastructure progress will be insane. That state will develop into a Tier 1 city in China but most will wait to see it built before they consider a move. It’s cheap now, won’t be for much longer.
-

No disrespect but Im pretty sure you are not going to be getting a gun anywhere,

You’re considering moving to Vail, CO because it’s cheaper?

I lived a couple of years in Dallas. Everyone has a huge air conditioner and electricity is cheap. An F250 King Ranch is very common like it's a Camry.
Coming from California, you would be shocked how affordable housing is.
I think Austin would be less culture shock for you.
-
Texas is better in every aspect but weather and outside activities.
-
Who the hell wants to live anywhere near the cartel though. Fuck that. I would be decapitated pretty quick if I lived near Mexico.
Stay away from the border. The cartels do very little in Texas unless you are involved in drugs or go looking for trouble.
Austin used to be a great place to live, but it's a total shitshow now.
ESFitness - If you have money look into The Woodlands north of Houston. The problem is the weather sucks, it's hot/humid 9 months of the year but easy to find a good job and everything is more affordable.
Colorado is trending downhill very fast, unless you want to live somewhere like Steamboat or Durango.
-
If you like to "GT Drive", the area between Houston, Austin, San Antonio, (Central Texas) is great for that. Also if you can speak German (Austrian) or Czech that is a plus in that area.
I put 250,000 miles on this car in this area until the engine blew up. (VR6 Golf GTI, naturally aspirated, 200 Horsepower, six speed stick)

GT stands for Grand Touring.
The areas you mentioned are as flat as a pancake and some of the most boring drives in Texas.
If someone wanted to experience a real drive in Texas, try devil's backbone.
I've never heard those languages anywhere near Schulenberg or the likes, I was born and raised in a Czech area, nobody spoke it in public.
Better off learning Spanish.
-
I live in California. If anybody’s leaving you could fool me. I can’t tell anybody’s left.
If you want reasonably priced houses, try Ohio. There the houses are about 1/4 or less the price of California houses. Better yet try West Virginia, houses there are dirt cheap.
-
I actually know of like three people that have left California.
One to Texas one to Nevada and one to Tennessee. Everyone but the Tennessee guy is moving back. Hated it.
Aliso is nice. Maybe go a little further east to LF/Tustin/MV or something and buy a house.

I didn't say it was necessary or expedient...However, the natives really open up if you converse in German or Czech.

If everyone is leaving Colorado the cost of living will go down there and I'll move in. The beauty of Western Colorado is breathtaking.

Actually yeah good point. He should leave California so my taxes don’t have to pay for his biannual totally-not-drug-related injuries. The second he fucks off to Texas my property taxes should drop.

Here in NM there are Cali folks moving in like crazy.
WV is a very poor and degraded state. Not much of an economy and filled with meth heads and hill Billie's.

White Sulphur Springs is great.
For vacation.
The new river gorge is probably the best rafting in north America. I've been down a few times.
Not sure anyone would live there, unless you are retired.

I couldn’t imagine moving from California to NM. Like let’s trade one Democrat run clown show for another, but this one had no beach, is a desert wasteland, has fucked up demographics, horrid weather, fuck all to do comes with a weird accent.

You've never been to NM, have you?
Some of the best weather in American is in NM. I live at 7k feet. Just stay away from the southern areas.
Affordable housing, world class hiking, biking, fishing, off-roading, etc.
About the only thing we don't have is a beach.
You can snow ski and golf the same day where i live.
And less than 2% blacks.
As long as you have money to put your kids in private schools, it's a great place to live.

I have been there. It sucked dick. Indian reservations, weird Mexican/white trash bros in tough guy outfits and lifted trucks. Too many wal-marts. Boiling summers.
Why would I have to put my kids in private school?
Why do I have to put my kids in private schools?

At least now you know why people are moving here from Cali.
You just described LA and the lower half of Cali. ;D
You should come back and try again, maybe you go stranded in Lordsburg or something.

I’m not moving to San Bernardino either.
I was in Las Cruces and then Albuquerque for a week or so each. Las cruces was ok. Santa Fe is less than 40% white.
I honestly just don’t see the point in the desert wasteland states. I need either greenery or ocean. I enjoy both where I’m at.
Any place that you are advised to pay for private schooling is generally a no go.

My opinion on New Mexico was compared to the southern half of California. I agree that some parts of the state fit that bill, San Bernardino, Elsinore etc. I’m not moving there either was my point.

Got it.
I’ve been through New Mexico several times and most of the area I’ve traveled through was depressing. Obviously there are great areas, but it sure seems like there are a lot of less than ideal places.

Nevada would be much better for a Californian to relocate. Better weather and still close to Cali to return on weekends.

One of the Vegas suburbs would be ok. I’m not certain how much more affordable it is there these days vs. SoCal.

Is Vegas mostly a flat area? Something anxiety producing about flat areas to me, triggers agoraphobia, don't know if anyone can relate :D

No lots of hills and valleys. Barren though. Just think of watching an American western movie. It’s really just another area that god never intended people living in.

It was cheap when I lived there but that was 20 years ago.

New Mexico had some pretty landscapes but was otherwise one of the shittiest states I’ve ever been in. Just lots of poverty, obesity, lack of jobs or real opportunity for younger people. Seemed like the young people with their head on straight got out as soon as they could.
I guess if you hate black people it might be a good state to live in ???

Yep. I’m trying to think of a shittier state that I’ve been, and really can’t think of one. Louisiana comes to mind but it has New Orleans and good food.

I thought you hated weed?
I used to.. but it keeps me from having to worry about alcohol withdrawal or painkiller withdrawal, and helped the pain after my surgery last year, and it actually gives me an appetite... And it's legal. It's not as bad as I thought it was lol

Okay, sounds good.
One fella on professionalmuscle just said if you really want to get into the medicinal benefits of weed you need to consume about a pound a month lol.

Yes, Im not worried about the medicinal part... It keeps me clean, and it's legal. That's all I care about. Funny how it turns out.. I hated weed in general, especially sativa's. now sativa's are what I like most. Makes you want to get up and do things the way Nubian did back in the good ole days lol.
Anyways... That'll be an issue in Texas. Not sure what the situation is in Texas legally. Guess I could ask ChatGPT.
Went back and compared real estate,, and Colorado where we're looking (Western) looks to be priced how San Diego was in the 90's/2000's.
Min wage is the same in CO as CA, I'd expect that to raise all salaries as well (it SHOULD), but things seemed 30+% cheaper. Just hand's on experience.
I see Texax min wage is like 7/8$, and avg salary for what I do is $59k-80-something-k, which is about 15-20% less than CA, but homes in San Antonio in the mid 200's. And if we'd do a USDA loan, I'd rather it be in Texas than Co.
-
I imagine he sells it. ;D
I doubt it, he says the change in perception is a side effect, the real benefits lie beyond that ;D The cancer patients believe in something called "Rick Simpson Oil" and so on, just heavy, heavy THC for supposed medicinal benefits. I haven't really researched it so can't say if it could be legit. We know bhanks has :D
I just now am trying to smoke for a "medicinal" benefit. I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis, and now after, weed shaves off a little, little of the stomach pain. It's something at least.
-

I really like weed especially at night, sometimes it causes very heavy self introspection and self criticism that can feel too much though.
A while back I marveled at a reply you wrote to joswift, how did you do it? And I just now realised, ChatGPT! Duh! ;D

I hardly notice it anymore. My tolerance to some things tends to go up pretty quick and I guess that includes THC also. I had a pancreatitis flare-up last year that I thought was gall-stones or my appendix burst at first. had me in the hospital for a couple nights. I had a couple bags of gummies with CBN(?) and a vape pen, made things a little more tolerable.

the taxes and fee's that every gov't agency tries to slip in. like the 241 Toll roads. they've been paid back many times over, and yet it's an empty stretch of road most the time and could be wide open to lesson congestion on surface streets. nicer areas of OC don't always have quick access to the freeway and the toll roads are another con-venience tax that we just bend over and take.

yea but then you have dirt poor Indians. I've only driven through New Mexico, but every place we stopped seemed to be an Indian Rez with all the people coming out of the bushes (literally) to ask for money. it was like cockroaches swarming a piece of macaroni. and Indians are the most racist people you'll meet. they hate whites. all the girls are molested by age 15 by their uncles and cousins, who are all alcoholics and meth addicts who compare what USP's they've been in.
New Mexico is def NOT an option.
AZ is tho.. kinda.
I looked at Nashville, but seemed priced like CO.

ThisIsBlowsForLoads was fighting an uphill battle trying to convince affluent getbiggers that NM is even inhabitable. I’m sure hiking is nice, thanks but no thanks.

I thought you hated weed?
I used to..
I was the technical producer for a radio call in gardening show...one day a guy called in and asked "How do you grow good marijuana outdoors?" (exact quote)
The host during the newsbreak came to my call director and answered off air.
"Lookup how to grow indeterminate tomatoes...indeterminate ...and follow those directions...even the fertilizers recommended will work well with weed." (exact quote)
-
What’s the vibe in Sweden? People leaving there?
Real Swedes leave areas as more and more MENA enter
Gothenburg and Malmö and their surroundings were wonderful in the 70s and 80s , now more and more Islamic cancer is spreading, even in areas such as Småland.
All the burbs in Stockholm (The Capital) is shit now, and it encroaches further and further in
I left Southern Stockholm and moved North, big difference here, so far.

Yea I don't think I'll try growing weed in TX
Comparing the temps across Texas and it looks hot, but it's still about 10 degrees cooler than Palm Springs (what I use to gauge "too hot") across the board.
Was stoked to see Lubbock had a max 17% chance of being muggy/miserable for about 2-3 wks a year, 5% higher than Palm Springs.... The rest of Texas (that I've compared. San Antonio, Waco, ) is like 50% starting in May till Sept, up to 80% almost across the board 2nd wk of July till 3rd wk of august....then saw it's the 3rd windiest city in the US. Fucking dust storms.. again (had them in Palm Desert too. Miserable)
