Title: Thanks for the memories
Post by: Chick on May 03, 2006, 06:42:51 PM
I do apologize to the true fans here, (whatever that percentage is)....for continuing to recognize tools like 240, Sarcasm, Goatboy, etc...by responding to them and wasting my time.

I will no longer respond to the foolish posts, and give any satisfaction to the trolls that continue to post here, despite having nothing good to say, nothing worthwhile to offer, and certainly not bodybuilding fans...

I will continue to post information for the Pro's, and contribute to worthy discussions...and those who have demonstrated to have a genuine interest in the sport of BB.

To the fools...don't bother. Post what you want, you'll get nothing in return. I refuse to acknowledge your existence, as you have no lives to speak of anyway...almost all of the buffoons have one thing in common to prove this...thousands of worthless posts and a shitload of time to kill.

I suggest to the REAL fans of this board and BB, to follow in kind and take back what was once a great site to interact with the Pro's and talk shop about bodybuilding.

Please don't feed the animals!

So is this considered a m-e-l-t-d-o-w-n? Or, an exit sermon?

Which is it? I can't tell.

btw: you can't type in m-e-l-t-d-o-w-n anymore...either that or Chick is editing my post   ::)

You realize, of course, that his apology and agreement to not engage posters in argument anymore was pretty much demanded by his bosses at BB.com?

You see, they're smarter than he is.  ;D
i wonder how many of his handlers called him up and chewed him a new ass for disrespecting the very people - THE FANS- that support the "sport" of bodybuilding.
chick wont get past this thread without blowing up again. i'll give my money to 1fast400 from now on. i wont support a company whose spokesman cant and wont understand that without the fans he would be delievering pizzas out of a busted subaru.

That is a bit too ambitious for me, but I would like to continue to make 1,000 posts per week until I have 20,000. I also want to toss in 300-400 post days.

For the record...

This isn't a BB.com decision..It's MY decision.

I've heard NOTHING from BB.com reguarding this, by phone or email...believe me, they (and I) have better and more important things to do.

BTW, I've just recently renewed my contract with BB.com for another 3 years.

Why did dearth's post get depeted, Bob?

What was wrong with it?

1) Bob's secret poll on IFBB judging is exposed to the gossip and opinions board
2) Jay Cutlers "I think the idea sucks" reponse is also disclosed
3) Bob categorically slams the gossip and opinion board (essentially the entire getbig community)
by referencing them as the "peanut gallery"
4) Bob decides to respond to 240's investigation into claims made about Bob's role/clout at bodybuilding.com, and quickly proceeds to make a fool of himself by arguing a losing battle (7 pages worth)

I respect that.  I don't think I'm considered to be a troll......I've read almost every post in this forum daily for several years...I save my posts for threads that peak my interest.  In fact, I've been a fan of yours for awhile...I believe you mean well.  However, just because posters on this board may not be fans of yours or agree with the things you're doing, don't believe they aren't true fans of the sport!  You think they'd dedicate the waking hours of their lives to posting on this forum if they weren't?!  Just don't let them get to you....
take it with a grain of salt.  No one expects you to defend yourself but the people who wish to see you fail...
don't ignore us...but don't take us to heart either...
we're all voices waiting to be heard

I have always been a fan of Chick's till he sorta showed his ass with the whole Lee thing. It seems that ever since Lee said he was not going to compete in last years O that Bob is always trying to call him out or some shit. I also do not like being called a peanut and I am a true fan I attend shows buy supplements and have never had anything bad to say here on the bords.  I can honestly say that I am surprised by Bob child like actions here on the bords.

Well - this place gets to you - everyone can have their problems. Now, it turn, because there are countless people who want to communicate with the pros, competitors and fans without being owned, or the thread turned to something that is wasnt, I have updated one of the boards, which is now called the Bodybuilding Fans & Friends board. For all of the people who PMed me, emailed me or posted their thoughts, thanks.

It will be for people who care about bodybuilding, for discussion in a positive way - and no negative attacks, trolls, etc.  It will be heavily moderated, so if you don't like it - don't go there.

Plain and simple.

Me too...But  If I were a betting man,I would bet that IF 240 really wanted to ,he could get under Bob's skin badly enough to get a reply out of him...I just don't think he would be able to resist it if 240 was persistant...he has an amazing ability to get under these guys' skin when he wants to.I have often wondered why these Pros care so much, because they are pros and this is just a message board...but they do seem to take things seriously.

MAy 3 2006 Bob Chick M3ltd0wn of the Year

Maybe we are Bodybuilding Fans who want to see the sport grow in a positive light Bob.
When contest are judged unfairly, ie Mr. Olympia, Masters, ect, come talk to us, until then Bob -oh take your Fifth Teir Physique somewhere else, No one cares for your BB career, the only way you make a name is by being a glorified announcer...

See Shawn Ray talks alot of crap to ppl and what not but ME I could care less , cause he was a BB who brought it every year, you are not even remotely in his league , but talk like your last Name is Weider and your in the top five every year, both not true.

You lost your humility, became arrogant, and now have had a m3ltd0wn....

Honestly, Goatboy has no life.  He's obsessed with both Chick and Goodrun.  So pathetic.

I thought I was obsessed with Kamali and Chad Mower?

Make up your mind.

When you get this all figured out, get back to me.  :)

This bob chick thing is boring.

It showed promise a while ago.

But that fizzed out.

It'll be forgotten within 72 hours

Fantastic idea Ron!!

Please don't feed the animals!
translation=anyone who doesn't blindly accept EVERYTHING i have to say is a "troll" and doesn't like bodybuilding.

It would have been nice had you thought about that before making a fool of yourself over dozens of posts.  Alas, now your credibility is all gone.  :'(

Doom disapproves.

You've got many, many fans here.  A highly disproportionate number of anti-Bob posts are generated by a certain borderline sociopath, who shall remain nameless (perhaps we could assign him number, instead).  Everyone knows it.

Unfortunately, people are more inclined to post in pursuit of a fight than to offer praise.  It makes for a nasty downward spiral, and it is totally unnecessary and unwelcome by most readers of this site.  I'm all for a good fight - but only when it makes sense to do so.

Excellent.

Sounds like a real plan.  And if the asshole('s') decide(s) to turn this site into an anti-Bob shrine, trying frantically to bait Bob into a fight, I sure hope that Ron has the balls to kick some serious ass.  He (Ron) owes it to our community.  Mindless, envy-driven attacks are worth ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

It's great to have you back with the fans, Bob.

It's going to be a tough one at first, because the idiot-meter is going to be wide open on these boards for a while.  ***Ron: I sure hope you don't let such a tiny (minded) interest take control of our community...it really fries most people.***

Agree with everything you said.

What's amazing to me is that 240 will sit here and try to insult people.  But at the end of the day 240 is still Rob, and the pros are still the pros.  Maybe that's why Rob is always on getbig, his reality sucks and he doesn't want to face it.

Weedoutheweak,

Thanks for summing that up nicely. 240 has a lot of free time to be disparaging and pained. Looking in the mirror can be troubling….

classic introduction to a new page that offers protection against brutal ownings!

Anyways, CHICK Im from syracuse NY and nearly all the people that have met you (since the early 80's) had less than positive things to say about you. The only positive comment came from Jeramy Freeman. He said he was glad you won the Masters. Why do random people I meet around town and people on this site like to pick on you?

Chick's one of those guys that seems like a decent enough guy as long as everything's going his way, but as soon as he faces the slightest bump in the road, bam! the facade crumbles and he shows his true colors.

Interesting comment.  I've never hung out with Chic and don't know any of his friends personally so I couldn't really comment on the level you have.  Do you know Chic personally?

For the record...

This isn't a BB.com decision..It's MY decision.

I've heard NOTHING from BB.com reguarding this, by phone or email...believe me, they (and I) have better and more important things to do.

BTW, I've just recently renewed my contract with BB.com for another 3 years.

you think bb.com would be interesed in a PDI guy(like me?)

I think BB.com needs to have a reg. Joe, average guy, Well built of course !!!  but an outsider to the industry with an insider edge...

Send me an EMAIL !!
