Title: Hegseth confirmation hearings
Post by: Coach is Back! on January 14, 2025, 10:14:56 AM
Day 1 is what you’ll see in all of the confirmation hearings from the “Democrats”

“Can you give me a simple yes or no answer” then filibuster until their time is up without letting them actually answer the questions.

What a waste of time.

Hopefully Hegseth can stay cool.

Meanwhile, Cali burns and NC is still buried under mud.

I only caught about 30 minutes.  The partisanship and character assassination by anonymous people are sickening.

He will get confirmed.

Someone in the Democratic party needs to tell dipshits like Hirono, Durbin, Duckfart, and Kaine that the overton window has shifted, and the public is completely over this partisan loaded questions gotcha bullshit.

Who did they think they appealing to?

Fucking idiots should have been grilling him on American safety, Russia, China, and all that.

Joe, man, you have weird fuckin' tastes. And looks aside, why wouldn't we want our new AG to know the 14th Amendment to the Constitution instead of having to study it? It's not like it was passed a year or two ago, and she hasn't been able to take any CE credits recently because of her heavy workload prosecuting unruly retirees and Cubans practicing Santeria. Although, I guess between all that and tossing Donald's salad, she probably puts in a solid 20 hours a week. A girl's gotta rest sometime!

Yeah, confirmation hearings are politics and grandstanding at its finest. And it's both cringeworthy and embarassing to watch.

That said, are the Republicans really any different? They have and will continue to do the exact same thing when things are the other way around. And that's my primary issue with you Joe. Intellectually, you're as limp as an overboiled noodle, and as far as I can tell from your posts you have no principles or integrity; you're just a mouthpiece, and a poorly functioning one at that.

Dude, she answered the 14th Amendment question. She's a two term AG.

Did she answer Padilla's question, or did she dodge it?

When asked about the 14th Amendment, Pam Bondi answered, "Senator, I'm here to answer your questions. I'm not here to do your homework and study for you. If I am confirmed as attorney general -" When asked again by Senator Padilla, she answered, "Senator, the Fourteenth Amendment, as we all know, addresses birthright citizenship. I have been a state prosecutor. I have been a state AG."

I like how you echoed her comment about having been an AG.

This is the kind of crap that keeps good people from public service.

Republicans balk at new Hegseth allegations
The Defense secretary nominee still appears on track for confirmation.

Still lose, but the Rs inability to do this could cost them.

Part of me respects the ability to be free thinking, even if it differs from my views. That said, the dems are fantastic at falling in line for important things and realizing the stakes of voting in unison which republicans are not. That part sucks.

Thankfully, the republicans have a large lead in the Senate.

And yet it only took three Republican votes against Pete Hegseth's confirmation to tie the vote, thus requiring VP Vance to vote to break the tie. This does not seem like a large lead to me.

McConnell, Murkowski and Collins. Just because they have an “R” next to their names doesn’t mean they are.

Enough with these establishment fossils. He has been a Senator for 40 years. He froze twice - on camera, fell multiple times. He still has 2 years on his term. Will he end up like Feinstein, latching on to power until his last moment?

That was a year and half ago:

In the week before that he fell multiple times in one week.

A month later he froze again:

Just last month he fell in the Senate:
