The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has nearly 1,000 deputy district attorneys (prosecutors). Residential burglary is a first-degree felony under California law and carries a penalty of two, four, or six-years' imprisonment plus a $10,000 fine. California has the three-strike rule which significantly increases sentencing for certain felonies, including residential burglary. Three strikes can result in a 25-year-to-life prison sentence.

Of course, I read the article which states that these types of crimes are on the rise. The point is that there is a new LA County DA, Nathan Hochman who is supposedly tougher on crime than progressive DA George Gascón was. DA Nathan Hochman is a former federal prosecutor who says he is a “hard middle” DA (whatever that means). Some folks, like you, prefer to look back rather than look forward. We cannot change the past; we can learn from the past and change the future. It looks like this is what is happening with the new LA County DA.

You mean crime is on the rise because of Hochman? Gascon all but decimated the LAPD and their special units. Now, Hochman is a democrat but as of this point he’s been keeping his word and is starting to actually prosecute, hand down sentences and letting the LAPD do their jobs instead of being high paid security guards and standing down.

No. My comments suggest the exact opposite. How did you conclude I thought crime was on the rise because of Hochman? Are you so accustomed to disagreeing with people less conservative/right wing than you are that you misinterpret/construe whatever we say?
Your response examples how you stereotype people based on your erroneous assessments of them. Most people on the spectrum lean left or right. Some people are even ‘middle of the road.’ Only a few, like yourself, have viewpoints which are stuck at the extremes.
