Regardless of what people think of the newer pros, Kai at 49 is coming in last place in almost every show he would enter if he tried a comeback. He wouldn’t even stand a chance in a smaller show.

He  has still maintained an ungodly amount of mass and conditioning though.

I am a fan of his physique but not his mentality.  He's strange.  But the dude is a true mass monster.

Think Kevin Levrone
Kai never stopped blasting juice .He is year around 280+ lbs  .
Kevin was away from sport for many years and never had great legs to begin with so his comeback was  BS.
Also if  Curry with weak legs can manage top 10 at the Olympia so can Kai.
Let’s see if it is only another stupid stunt or he went to Manion's for blessing and pro card.

Wasn't he living in Section 8 housing and getting food stamps while preparing for the Olympia? Where did he get 3 million?

Wasn't he living in Section 8 housing and getting food stamps while preparing for the Olympia? Where did he get 3 million?

I saw it said he had a house somewhere but kept that little apartment and shot some clips there for a certain image. I don't know.

Levrone as I recall didn't even really show his body completely before he came back onstage. And that could only mean one thing I thought at the time. Palumbo was predicting he would win the O which I thought was absurd. If Kai is really open with pics the community could sort of decide if it's worth it to step onstage. Of course he won't be what he was but he could be impressive and generate hype for some type of business offstage. Rumor on forums by one connected individual a couple of years before he retired said observers noted signs his body was failing, I think swollen ankles was mentioned, and someone took him aside and told him to hit the brakes before too late...  "13 grams" was mentioned. Hey it's a rumor but could very well be true imo. His body appears to not have failed yet though. It was said Kai was a gay escort when younger at least  :D

I think it's amazing how fans now say he was extraordinary, at the time it was a lot of disses about his bubble gut all the time. Dorian was also said to be pure shit and bad for the sport, but now...

Over 7 mill followers that alone brings you tons of money.
Won bunch  of shows including 2x ASC and few runner up Olympias.
TV appearances /Stranger Things etc/
He was doing  ok  with his company Dynamik ,but then Aaron gave him lucrative contract with Redcon 1 so Dynamik  had vanished .Tons and tons of guest appearances all over the world.
Guys that used to train with him in 5th ave gym and Oscar Ardon told me he has purchased townhouse in Brooklyn years ago  that is worth now about $1.6 mill
Plus he probably has another property in FL .
He has endorsement deals .
Bottom line no kids no wife = not spending.

Kai Greene hasn’t openly discussed his steroid or PED (performance-enhancing drug) use, but given his elite bodybuilding status, we can make an educated guess based on what’s typical for a top-tier IFBB pro.

Estimated Monthly Steroid & PED Costs for Kai Greene

A high-level bodybuilder like Kai would likely be on a heavy stack, including:

1. Basic Steroid Cycle (High-End Dosages)

Testosterone Enanthate / Cypionate: 2–4g per week → ~$400–$800/month

Trenbolone Acetate / Enanthate: 700–1400mg per week → ~$400–$800/month

Masteron / Primobolan: 700–1400mg per week → ~$500–$1,500/month

Equipoise (Boldenone Undecylenate): 600–1200mg per week → ~$200–$500/month

Orals (Anadrol, Dianabol, Winstrol, etc.): ~$200–$500/month

2. Growth Hormone (GH) & Peptides

Pharmaceutical-Grade GH (Serostim, Norditropin, etc.): 10–20 IU per day → $3,000–$6,000/month

IGF-1 LR3 / Insulin / Other Peptides: ~$500–$1,500/month

3. Ancillaries (Aromatase Inhibitors, Liver/Kidney Protection, etc.)

Aromasin / Arimidex (Estrogen Control): ~$100–$300/month

Cabergoline (Prolactin Control): ~$50–$200/month

Liver/Kidney Protectants (TUDCA, NAC, etc.): ~$100–$300/month

Other Supports (Blood Pressure Meds, etc.): ~$100–$300/month

4. Peaking / Pre-Contest Additions

Diuretics (Aldactone, Lasix, etc.): ~$100–$300/month (only close to a show)

Insulin (Humalog, Humulin-R, etc.): ~$200–$500/month

---

Total Monthly Estimation

Low Estimate: $5,000/month

High Estimate: $10,000+/month (especially with pharma-grade GH)

For an Olympia-level bodybuilder, $8,000–$10,000 per month is a reasonable assumption, particularly given his size, muscle maturity, and conditioning. The biggest cost driver would be growth hormone, which is often the most expensive part of a pro bodybuilder's stack.

This doesn’t include food, supplements, coaching, or recovery treatments, which could easily push his total monthly expenses well over $15,000–$20,000.

Not as many as he used to have plus Redcon  only keeps DLB on the payroll, Kai is out so maybe he needs  to pick up that 100k check in Pittsburgh .
Hopefully he is not like 78% pro athletes after the retirement:

Total Monthly Estimation

Low Estimate: $5,000/month

High Estimate: $10,000+/month (especially with pharma-grade GH)

For an Olympia-level bodybuilder, $8,000–$10,000 per month is a reasonable assumption, particularly given his size, muscle maturity, and conditioning. The biggest cost driver would be growth hormone, which is often the most expensive part of a pro bodybuilder's stack.

This doesn’t include food, supplements, coaching, or recovery treatments, which could easily push his total monthly expenses well over $15,000–$20,000.

Pros don't actually pay for gear; I would be shocked if Kai ever really paid for his gear during his career. Pros and other people connected to the bodybuilding scene  - dealers beg to give them gear, maybe for a few referrals or just the bragging rights of supplying to O competitors. They don't really pay for coaching either; the coach benefits regardless. Most pros also move a little gear, easy extra cash.

His style actually works on some people, they think if they don't understand something it must be profound and deep.

I'm guessing this has been mentioned already but he may be concerned about the new rule about bodybuilders keeping their ifbb pro-cards.

Has he posted a pic of his current condition? Everytime I see a pic of his he's covered head to toe and any pic of him with his torso or legs showing is from when he was competing.
