I expect we will all lose our jobs, standards of living, and autonomy. Artificial Intelligence, automation, and Indians (the two AI's) are about to crush us all. :-\

One od.my online students who is at IT fella says that within the next 10 years over 50% of peeps won't have a job did to AI replacing them but.....  he said it's all good coz the economic prosperity it will bring will allow all those non workers to get paid socially and that income will be sufficient for a modest way of life

Sounds good to me

Being a minimalist by choice is one thing, being poor and impotent another. It's concerning that people apparently are going to be fine with what is to come very soon. Total dependence and being boxed in with zero options or autonomy. Sad.

Do you mean more control and less personal freedom?

The sort of life you described is one of not having the means to make anything happen. It's the life of a domestic hamster in a box, getting his daily fix of hamster pellets, having a go on his hamsterwheel, shitting all over himself, taking naps, and do it all over again until the day he dies. What a way to live  :-\

You gotta do what gives you pleasure

I get pleasure from physical improvement

You also gotta know your limits

I'm not made for personal relationships as I always fuck them up
