Every other "athlete" seems to be wearing them lately, what are they even good for? Are they actually doing anything or is it just another scam? ???
-
Suppose to help with breathing.
Only people I've seen wearing them are "fitness influencers" and fitness "V-Loggers." They all wear them during their "morning routines" and their "full days of eating."
I'm guessing they all probably have "links in the description" for you to purchase your own. Mindset would be: "If my favorite super duper successful fitness star wears them, I should as well. And then I will be successful like them!"
Stay away from them. They are worthless. Don't make the influencers rich.

How would some f*ing duct tape you stick onto your nasal bridge help you with breathing? lol
-
What sizes are available?
Asking for a friend former Mr Olympia.
-
Breathing strips. They've been around forever in the athletic world. The bodybuilding industry is just now catching on. A little slow

Well I think it pulls on the nasal passage area making it easier to nose-breathe?
Everything can work if you believe it does. Athletes used to have tape criss-crossing their muscles; is that still popular? I remember some ridiculing it.
Different passive muscle manipulations are also scientifically controversial but many athletes believe in them.

Kinesiology taping. Still a little popular with Crossfit folks, but not to the extent it was years ago.
The breathing strips / nose spreaders got popular with the sleep apnea folks years ago. They were suppose to hold your nosterils open for better air flow, not sure it that's what it's sold for in bodybuilding. I have small nostrils, i need the Kai Greene tapes.
-
I don’t wear them for breathing. Im trying to get a wider nose.
-
I’m natty also. Therefore I do not use them
-
To curtail hyperplasia of the nostrils

Arnold, Dorian, etc. never needed any of those strips.
-
I use for sleeping, it helps eliminate snoring.
Would never consider for exercise.
And the tape doesn't work, but this does, and I suggest it to anyone who needs help:

I think you’re confusing them with RockTape
-
So one fad was masks that restricted breathing and another fad is strips that improves breathing. The whole industry is a joke
Remember this crap?

I would categorize more for athletic performance on the field but Grape is correct when he says it's good for snoring and/or apnea. They weren't around during Arnolds time and I don't think even in Dorians days.
-

No, we've used a lot of Rocktape when I had my facilities and when I was a team S&C coach. Different product all together

I think sleeping on your side also reduces snoring / apnea. It's dangerous to sleep on your back with your head straight up. Do you use those strips when you sleep? If so, does it help? I have a CPAP and barely used it. It's been sitting next to the bed for years. I just can't bother with a dumb mask on my face.

Bought some once, didn`t notice a damn thing. :(

Try nasal pillows ...I resisted CPAP for so long...falling asleep at stoplights...until I finally made it work properly.
The euphoria of getting proper sleep that first time is unforgettable.

You can't go saying such things - You'll have Prime on at you telling you
They're life savers.

I just had a thought in my head, wonder if sleep apnea increases hematocrit because of the hypoxia? Sure enough, AI says it does. But I'm sure any "doping" effect is cancelled out by the poor sleep which causes everything to go to shit. When I hit a certain BW I'm sure I have sleep apnea but seems to resolve when lighter. obsidian I think it's crazy you don't use your machine but I do plenty of stupid stuff to myself so I can't really talk :-X :D One complaint I saw was the big masks caused a wrinkly face with new deep lines.

I sleep on my side and that helps I think. I need to get my weight down though - by around 80lbs.
Sleep apnea means you stop breathing - causing lack of oxygen. So your blood thickens to carry more oxygen. And that's where you enter Heart Attack City. Fish Oil and a Baby Aspirin (81 mg) can help thin the blood.
When I was on TRT I would get dizzy after doing hyperextensions. And then I'd go donate blood and feel a lot better. I stopped TRT a few years ago, and don't get that dizzy feeling anymore. My blood pressure is ok as well, even tough I weigh more now (305lbs) than when on TRT (275-285lbs).

I have one of those. Do you sleep on your back with the CPAP mask on? Because I try sleeping on my side, and it turns into a wrestling match — mask sliding off, tube wrapped around me like a snake every time I flip. And don’t get me started on getting up to pee — suddenly it’s a full-on operation: take it off, navigate the tube, put it back on… by the time you’re done, you’re wide awake and ready for round two.

Pro, and maybe next Classic Physique Mr. Olympia, Mike Summerfeld wears them all the time.

Yup.
Nattokinase might be something to look into if your values get too high, probably a good supp for those who juice. Some may have a blood clotting disorder they didn't even know they had before they got tested so HRT could be extra dangerous.
"Natto, a fermented soybean product, has been consumed as a traditional food in Japan for thousands of years. Nattokinase (NK), a potent blood-clot dissolving protein used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, is produced by the bacterium Bacillus subtilis during the fermentation of soybeans to produce Natto. NK has been extensively studied in Japan, Korea, and China. Recently, the fibrinolytic (anti-clotting) capacity of NK has been recognized by Western medicine."
I have anemia and low iron despite juicing which I need to have the docs really look into which isn't easy in this country. The docs at least can't tell my test is sky high looking at my blood values but it's bad for me as I'm not "responding" normally to androgens.
Blood donating for juicers is kind of controversial. Some claim it's not at all sure it's protective and may be harmful. I know a nurse who makes money draining bodybuilders blood in their apartments. This without any tests to see if there is a need which is stupid IMO.

Does kai Greene / Phil heath need to wear them 🤣😄😂

Is this the magnet version?
Yes.
Works extremely well.
The strips it attaches to can be considered steep - maybe 250 / year, but it's about 40 bucks to get the kit and a two week supply.
Took me one night of use to order a year's worth.
-
They've been used by prostitutes for years. Helps breathing when sucking horse cocks.

There are surgeries that can be done for sleep apnea if you cannot tolerate the mask. If you leave it untreated it could lead to other consequences down the road beyond just poor sleep.

So I guess tommy always had them on hand then

haha yeah I remember those masks being heavily advertized on Social media and by influencers years ago with douzens of studies how great they'd work, they have vanished completely from one week to the other (I guess they were not the great breakthrough when it came to elevating humanity to the next level after all :D)
-

:D No fucking way! I want my nose as clogged up as possible going down on those hippos.

My sleeping patters are horrible. If I get three consecutive hour of sleep per night, it's a good night. Never had the CPAP but it was recommended when I was 245-250. Scared the hell out of my wife and I would wake up In the middle of the night gasping. Should have it at the time. With G3 tears in one shoulder and G2 in the other I can't sleep on my sides very much
