I know this can vary depending on the time of year but how often do you wash your vehicle? And how do you wash it? At home in your driveway? At an established car wash? Maybe at those random set ups where kids are fundraising and offering to wash your car for X dollars? Do you get it detailed at a premium? If you wash it yourself do you do it shirtless (bodybuilding related)?
The other day I realized that I have not washed my Tacoma in probably a year, but it's usually parked in the garage and is not used as a primary vehicle. I wash my SUV about twice a month... but only because I have a "subscription" at a local drive thru carwash that allows me to wash it as many times as I want for a flat monthly fee.

Exciting topic

I take it for a full clean inside and out every couple months, cost about £30
Guy used to live near me used to spend all Sunday afternoon cleaning and polishing his car
I once told him that no matter how many times he cleaned it it was only ever one wash cleaner than mine
I had an old banger back then I NEVER washed

I only wash it when my poolboy comes to visit.

How many pounds of soiled thongs can you fit in that truck bed?

Once a week through one of those automated washes that lets you use the vacuum for free after. I have a $19.99 month membership.

In S. FL. Nov.-April in the driveway. I would not take my M5 through a car wash.
-
When I used to have a car I would take it to the car wash about once a month

When I first got my license as a teenager, I would get my car washed every week.
Then I switched to washing it / detailing it myself every week.
Then I stopped caring about washing my car for a few years.
Then i began just using a hose to spray it quickly. Or I would wait until it rained and would wash it during the rain storm to save money.
Then I started getting a spider infestation in my car so I started going to the car wash each weekend.
Then i began battling a bee infestation from my property and a beehive above my parking space at work, in addition to a spider infestation on my property…and the bees and spiders seemed to be attracted to my car from the tree sap that fell on it from the tree I had to park under…due to not being able to park in my driveway because that’s where a wasp nest was.
Then I had to recently cancel my car wash membership because the worker accused me of trying to steal my own car one time when I got in my car after it was finished / dried and then they also broke a part of my car seat.
So i signed up at the other car wash in town which happens to be the original car wash i went to as a teen. But this car wash seems to be infested by yellow jackets which attacked a lady one afternoon when I was there but luckily did not bother me. I’m sticking with this car wash and i get my car washed each weekend. I have the monthly membership for unlimited washes.

I’d imagine the same applies to your underwear

Well you’re off (as usual). I shower 3x a day and change my underwear each time.

About 2-3 times a year at home.

We have a service that comes to the shop once a week that does mine and my son‘s cars and a couple of the office employees

Hello Mr. I live in an ivory tower. ;D

I won't use the automated drive thru places, they scratch the shit out of your paint.
My daily driver I wash myself every couple of months, to me washing and detailing a car is therapeutic and a good excuse to drink beer outside in the great mountain air. I'll buff and polish it once a year.
My beater F150 I wash maybe once a year myself or just spray it off after off-roading with my personal power washer that has the soap wand attachment.
My C6Z I had ceramic coated many years ago and it sits in the garage; I drive it on the weekends and maybe 1500 miles a year. The coating is great, I just spray it with the power soap wand and do a light scrub with a fresh high quality towel, rinse and then blow the water off with my electric leaf blower. The water sheets right off. I wash it every month of two myself, just because I take it to car shows.
There is a mobile detail guy who does a great job on my boss's truck, but at $150 for a full inside and out job, I can't seem to convince myself to pay that much.

A few times per year before the car goes to the garage (independent brand specialist) for maintenance. (Simple things like oil changes & filters I do myself, saves loads of money)
For the rest only spraying lots of water on the underside of the car with the garden hose in winter to get rid of the salt & sand they put on the roads when it's icy.

The car wash frequency of each weekend I provided is my typical frequency. Sometimes I get it washed Saturday. Or other weekends it may end up being on Sunday. Sometimes both days. If something unusual happens and my car gets dirty, such as a bunch of birds eating red berries and pooping all over my car, then I’ll go during the week as well. Usually with work I don’t have time to go during the week.
The difference between my showering/underwear frequency vs car wash frequency is I’m pretty consistent with controlling the environment/places I go in my car. Thus, I typically only have to get it washed on weekends. I pretty much go the same places every day in my car. I also very rarely drive with windows open in an effort to prevent bees and spiders from climbing in.
The reason I shower 3x a day is because the various places I go each day and the people I interact with differ each day. If I walk into a Chinese restaurant to buy rice, I can’t control the smell that gets on my clothes. If I go to the gym, and I’m sitting on a machine, I can’t control the sweat smell that rubs off on me from the seat. If I go into a kitchen to assist, I can’t control the smell that gets stuck on me. Recent example was an Uber driver from Hell. The Uber car was an old mini van and he stopped in the middle of the street in heavy traffic to pick me up. There was no A/C, windows were up, the inside was filthy and sticky, and he smelled like a homeless man who ate curry and hadn’t showered for a month. For the 1st time in my life, I began dry heaving and asked to get out after we got off the highway after he cut off a tractor trailer and almost got us killed. I walked 30 mins to my dentist appointment instead of finishing the ride and had to throw away my sweat shirt on the street because I smelled so bad from the ride before I went into the dentist office.

Very nice! What a beautiful car! I got my car mobile detailed once and they did an amazing job. They came right to my job. But like you, I can’t justify the price to have it done frequently.

That’s amazing. You’re very lucky. Do they use your building’s water/hose or do they have their own water in the truck?

they use a water hose with no nozzle so that they can use their finger to control stream versus spray. Pretty good technique if you ask me. Even the end of the hose is cut off.

I only use the car at the weekend, and is parked at the garage. I wash it every 3-4 months. Cost me 7€ to run the local tunnel car wash.

Have never washed the outside of a car in 25+ years of owning cars. Mother Nature rains eventually and does it for me. Cars are a time and money suck...why give them more than I already do, considering that each day that goes by, they're worth less than they were the day before and no amount of washing or doting will change that? Never made sense to me, but I can understand the allure for some (cars are a personal status symbol/hobby for many...just not me).
I do clean the inside of the cars we own for sanitary reasons of course. Maybe once every 2 months with a shop vac for the rugs and seats and some windex for the glass. Gives me an excuse to be in the garage for an hour with a handy IPA (or two).

Every other week I run through the carwash. Once every 5-6 weeks I have the little fella in the white van wash/detail it.

Every other week I run through the carwash.
Can't decide between:
1. Can't you just shower?
or
2. Bullshit, you don't run anywhere.
or
3. How dirty ARE you?

Every couple of weeks at hand wash in town ($100 a car), but all my cars have PPF/ceramic so they never really get that dirty.
