There is not one single judging criterion (size, conditioning, structure, proportions....) where Samson would be superior to Andrew, still he'll end up in 1st or 2nd and Andrew in 4th. The other 2 are manlets anyway...

From what ive seen in the past samson will win and it will be "controversial" and I believe Andrew will get second, Hadi and Derek will retire.

Samson is a shadow of his former self, probably tried hard to come in super-shredded this time and lost like 30 % of his mucles and volume (without being harder than last year), completely blew it. I would have Fitzwater ahead of Samson this year.

Based on these pic's this is how I would have it. Samson and Nick both lls. Samson lls because he blew his contest prep. Nick lls because Nick looks like shit. Hadi looks best but the oil use is hard to ignore. Same with Andrew. Derek and Samson both look weeks out. Though Derek looks better than Samson.
Imo the 212 guys look better.
From the pre-judging video it looks like Andrea Shaw might lose the Ms.O. Not that anyone cares. I think she's the best looking woman on the stage but it seems like the other competitors are leaner and harder. There's really no way to have a Ms. OLYMPIA with any femininity. Its counter intuitive to the whole concept of bodybuilding. It's an extreme "sport" in which male hormones are used to build muscle. There's never going g to be a Rachel, or Cory, or Lenda again. I think Lenda is as extreme of a female bodybuilder as you can have before it starts to get ugly up there.

Show a pic of the top 4 to 100 people that know nothing about Bodybuilding and 75 will say Andrew should win. Same thing with Big Ramy. He should have won an O or two before he finally did. Andrew looks like he could be the template for the Mr. O statue/trophy.
Pretty poor performances out of the top 6. Only Andrew was at his best. Martin was good. About the same as last year. I'm 212, Keone was very disappointing. I was wrong declaring he'd win the open.

A while back joswift posted guest posing pics of Samson which showed the loss of size. I thought he would try to gain some back after some feedback but he didn't. Apparently he has been told he should be a bit harder but he didn't actually get any harder but just lost size.

Even if we prefer the oldtimers, if they were compared today I think we would still say couldn’t the guy have dieted a bit more to get rid of those soggy glutes or used just a bit more drugs because the contrast would be so shocking. They used drugs but would look natural or what our desensitized brains would interpret as natural. “He used Parabolan and Anadrol for this? My buddy doesn’t use anything and he’s as big” Terra looks plenty juiced but I mean smaller guys like Makkawy. Today a guys bodyfat is almost nonexistent and we feel he is 6 weeks out or didn’t diet at all, for example that big necked fella. He was outta shape but look at the vids and assess his actual fat levels.

You hit the nail on the head. That is the EXACT question I see posted on all the videos of the show. Derek is indeed quite the weirdo. I haven’t watched many post win interviews. But I’m guessing he thanked his Lord Jesus Christ and rambled on and on. I saw a clip of him talking to Palumbo and he was frazzled and buzzing and called all the competitors his colleagues.
Someone on here made an amazing comment of: “Back in olden times, you had to pay a quarter to see the freak show at the circus. Now they’re all on stage.” I never thought of it like that…but that’s so accurate! The majority of them are weird looking, lumpy oil bag dwarfs. And I can’t even imagine all the seedy things that must take place behind the scenes in order for the “athletes” to keep winning. I wonder if that’s why Hadi never wins. He seems like the type that would refuse to take part. Sergiopump had the inside scoop and was silenced.

Jay was in great shape there but there are similarities to those guys actually. Jay was also thought of as a guy on the smoother side. In fact Jay had picked Lunsford as a winner before the show and many were kind of ridiculing him or he was going against the grain.

Jays conditioning and size was good in 2009, maybe better than 2001 but his x-mas tree had started to go bad there.
Compare to his lats in 2001 you will see. Happens to a lot of bodybuilders...
