Title: Nick Walker - Does he have Palumboism?
Post by: gib on October 11, 2025, 04:13:08 AM
The GH and insulana have taken its toll.

Shrivelled limbs, lost the fullness, distended gut...

Just looking at some of the pics, looks very similar to the original picture of Palumbo which personified the symptoms of this disease.

Thoughts?

His receptors seem to be shutting down. A body can only handle that amount of abuse for so long...

What will happen to his leg veins when or if he retires? I would imagine shaving his legs had to be hard/painful for him?

His legs downsized since the last shows and his condition is worse. The hype train is over for him being a potential winner.

If he lives to retirement. Having vascular disease that bad at that age ain't good.

They look even worse than I expected. What a disaster compared to the 70s / 80s / 90s!

Are the judges and IFBB blind? Can't they see how much the "sport" has deteriorated?

He dropped out of the Mr O before with him and his coach saying that he wouldn’t have been able to show the physique he was capable of.   This year they hyped it up as him being the best shape ever.

It’s going to be the start of a long slow hard struggle with life in general when he is forced to retire and his health declines.  BBing was the only thing he could possibly do and he wasn’t even good at that.

Even by modern standards they look bad.

Everyone used to bring their best to the O. I think back in the 70's and 80's and maybe 90's too, they all trained and used gear but got into contest shape by diet and may have even dropped some drugs closer to the contest.

Now Idk, but it seems they're doing too much to peak? Like there is too much experimenting close to the show? Like some magic drug that will get them ready and they fuck up their prep?

Idk, I don't know much about contest prep or drugs but these guys all look like shit. Andrew is the only one who looks to be at his best.

Is Krizo even competing? Did he even qualify?

Bodybuilding peaked in the 80s/90s. I don’t even know what this is anymore. Bunch of lumpy oil filled body parts covered in varicose veins. No flow, no proper proportion, no definition. Just mass at all cost. What’s funny is even with their outrageous size someone like Arnold would still make them look small due to the average height of these modern pros.

X2. And that's without even touching on the outrageous health risks the current era is taking with their drug stacks. I mean, imagine, going through all that just to look like veiny, lumpy, mass of melted shit, then to destroy your health on top of it.

BBing was the only thing he could possibly do and he wasn’t even good at that.

I'm not defending his ugly physique but winning an Arnold isn't "good"? In competitive terms he's a success. Factor in his uglilness and he's an insane success.

Now Idk, but it seems they're doing too much to peak? Like there is too much experimenting close to the show? Like some magic drug that will get them ready and they fuck up their prep?

IMO there might be less experimenting today, some coaches are pretty formulaic. I think the body just doesn't cooperate perfectly each time. Then there is the obsession with "fullness," everyone is afraid of coming in downsized and flat, like Samson now. So they overflow.

I spent 30 seconds on this and it's absolute dog-shit, but I was trying to see what is 'off' about his structure. So I stretched the legs and cut those obliques but it still didn't look right.  Then I lowered the torso - his is long like Matarazzo

The result is vaguely Lumpsford

The legs are short and the torso long but the quads don't have sweep either and the separation could be better. I've said a thousand times on here that the short legs, long torso look is the nr1 aesthetics killer IMO. All the best looking bbers had long legs.

Yep, the short stumpy legs kill their overall structure. Makes short bbers look even more like oompah loompas

Everyone always praises Lee priest , aside from his arms and calves, his structure with short legs, narrow clavicles, no chest, and long torso, makes him look off

Agreed.
Leg lenght is big for overall appereance. Just a bit too long and they look thin.

Come to think of it, most of the ’90s greats had good symmetry in that regard.

Nasser, Leverone, Dorian, Ronnie, etc. Around 5’10” seems to be quite a sweet spot?

Flex and Shawn were tad shorter but were still proportionate within their frame.

He’s shorter now on one leg these days

Levrone 5’9 and Cormier 5’9

Ronnie 5’10, Dorian 5’10, Nasser 5’11

The whole thing isn't a physique that really works as an olympia winner but it also doesn't really fall into the niche of the torso becoming the main focal point combined with the atrophy of the limbs.  He still has bigass arms and quads.  The arms have to start going in palumboism.

Nasser has a bit of long torso syndrome as well but his quads are well defined, legs are proportional, and the excellent shape of his overall physique more than compensates for it

Exactly, I was thinking of Priest when I wrote my post.

When speaking of long legs, one guy that comes to mind is Terrence Ruffin. Sometimes its almost as if they are too long but its always preferable to short legs IMO.
