Title: Aceto: Derek Lunsford didn't almost die backstage; it was a """panic attack"""
Post by: io on October 27, 2025, 04:04:08 PM

Skip to 25:48. Aceto dispels the rumors that Derek nearly died backstage before the finals by telling his version of events. Apparently the promoter plucked him out of the audience and said Derek was gravely ill, and in Aceto's own telling, he "walked slowly backstage" like he was "walking through a mall ( ??? ), very slowly" which proves he knew Derek was fine (even though no one had told him what was wrong with Derek yet).

Contrary to reports Derek had seized up and had to be force-fed, Aceto says Derek was simply having a panic attack and everything was fine actually. He says his resting heart rate was "like a tennis father watching his son play tennis ( ??? )", which means he was actually 100% fine and not knocking on death's door due to diuretic abuse.

Anyway there you have it folks, case closed!

Split this down the middle, and we come up with - "He was only a little dying" as the correct answer :).

Weird similes he is using, most likely lying.

Even if he did almost die, he’s not going to admit it.

He put too much effort into it. He should've just kept it short, "He had a panic attack that froze him for a bit, and we had to get that sorted out.". Done.

If he did die, he would have gotten more applause than he did from winning the O.

With all the tren, clen, halotestin, insulin and diuretics plus looking like a water buffalo no wonder he was having a panic attack.

I was thinking he must have felt uneasy looking at his bloated face in the mirror before walking out.

Probably knew it was rigged and he would hear some serious shit once it’s over.

Maybe he even felt guilt for looking awful and still knowing he would “win.”

He was already the worst Mr Olympia of all time, but he even surpassed himself.

They are interesting medical experiments. Pity they all look worse than the best bodybuilders of the 1990s.

Exactly. Lol. The reason for walking slowly like he’s in a mall was because he was worried and contemplating his life’s decisions. As far as the heart rate like a dad watching his son play tennis, must mean his heart rate was high.
