It isn't my video. I am simply showing your argument is the wrong way to go. You can see light houses 200 miles out at see. This dismantles the point you are making. You can also see a ship on the ocean go over the horizon looking like it has disappeared by the curvature UNTIL you use a telescope and the whole ship comes right back into view.
It's sea and lighthouses, btw. You're welcome!
“Lighthouse” is one word because English treats it as a closed compound noun.
Originally, it was two words: light house (a house that holds a light). Over time, as the object became a single, well-defined concept, the words fused into one. This is very common in English.

wow, all that over a typo
Obsessed much?

English is not a dead language, therefore what is "wrong" today can be "right" 50 years from now.

In 2026, there is zero reason for you to be discussing lighthouses. With all the damage they've caused, it's actually downright offensive and not appropriate.
Yes, you are correct that it's one word.
Simply put, lighthouses are soon to be forgotten relics of the past.
People always think that lighthouses were safety buildings and protected the ships at night. That may have been their original purpose.
Unfortunately, much like highway billboards, lighthouses were found to be responsible for the majority of ship wrecks due to their tendency of distracting ship captains.
Look at the numbers. Lighthouses caused many fatal ship wrecks. There is even discussion regarding the Edmond Fitzgerald and the role lighthouses played in that tragedy.
Being a lighthouse keeper was a doomed and dismal job. Movies make it seem like the opposite. Everyone always pictures the peaceful bearded lighthouse keeper wearing a cap and eating stews. But most of them were nasty, deviant, odd, and hermit like anti-social people. Lighthouses were also notoriously haunted with malevolent spirits that tormented the lighthouse keepers. That is why most lighthouse keepers committed suicide and became sickly.
Time to wake up and rightfully move past lighthouses and take advantage of all that the modern nautical world offers.

Any examples of one of these anti social hermits committing suicide from being haunted by malevolent spirits?

Cool AI vid of Arnold, Obsidian.

Gruesome murders, suicides, strange deaths, and hauntings reported for some of the keepers of lighthouses on the Great Lakes, Seguin, Conimicut Shoal, and Pilot Island. That's why many people refuse to visit lighthouses because the spirits may attach to you and come home with you.
If you were a lighthouse keeper, being haunted and tormented by a spirit and eventually the possibility of death wasn't "will it happen?", it was "when will it happen?"

gotten reigned supreme until the late 1500s, when got increasingly appeared in its place. Shakespeare and Hobbes used both. Got seems to have overtaken gotten around 1700.

I agree with you and that's been my recent way of looking at hauntings. Do you have thoughts on sleep paralysis being evil?

I know you're not asking me but as someone who had terrible sleep paralysis episodes for years it may interest you that it went away overnight completely after moving my bed to the other side of the room and facing another direction. Could be coincidence but its worth considering. This was completely unexpected as I moved it for practical reasons so there is no expectation of placebo

I,m not sure, it could be just physiological but there could be more to it. I had it a few times briefly many years ago but it would break quickly and I would wake up.
It is better to sleep with the head facing either east or south, something about the earths magnetic currents.

Head facing as in the top of the cranium pointing that direction? Or "facing" as in pointing with feet in that direction? (Assuming back sleeping posture)
I am now more or less facing east, so I am ready for the second coming of Christ
Matthew 24:27
[27]For as the lightning goes forth from the east and shines to the west, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
1 Thessalonians 5:2
[2]for ye know perfectly well yourselves, that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief by night.
