I think it is not a smart thing to do, but I think it is an important right to protect.

I agree that it is not a good idea to carry weapons to heated events like protests. But then, I am not a gun carrier or owner. I don't think there is language in the 2nd Amendment that addresses this though.

This is true. And it would have been no problem at all if he stayed on the sidewalk and protested instead of fighting with LE.
