Title: Do you still write by hand and what does your handwriting look like these days?
Post by: unwieldy on January 30, 2026, 02:20:23 AM: I wonder how many people still write things by hand regularly, and what they use it for. I almost never write anything by hand and as a result my hand writing looks like that of a child. I was asked to write a personal note in a children's bible I bought my godson for his birthday and it was very embarrassing. When I was a kid, old people in my family had very elegant and sophisticated handwriting styles. It made me realize how much of civilization has been lost already. We may be only 1-2 generations away from complete full blown illiteracy

I tried a number of journal apps but I couldn't journal the way I wanted to when doing weird supersets or whatever. Style is ugly and I can hardly make out what I wrote later but it sort of works if I make an effort to write legibly :D

Post by: BB on January 30, 2026, 09:39:20 AM: Yes, I try to write something longhand a few times a week. Like everything, if you don't practice, you lose it. My cursive isn't overly flowery, but neat and readable, I actually have a worse time writing in print.

Now it looks like I’ve been drinking it is so bad.

I also type slowly though too.

My wife handles most of that for my business and personal life luckily.
