It's the book I ended up ordering for my father's birthday, and having arrived some days in advance of the birthday, I am reading a bit of it myself.
It's basically the original book with a lot of disclaimers and I think also some parts omitted, not quite sure yet.
It's a riveting story so far, you can feel it gripping you immediately and images of marching and saluting and frantic speeches appear in your mind. May intensify existential questions but I feel it will be an edifying read to better understand history.

so you are giving your father a second dog eared book for his birthday you selfish shit of a son...

pity reply....but in the end

No, unlike you I am a man of great precision and care in handling properties. I wash and dry my hands thoroughly and have a special technique in handling the turning of the pages and opening the book no more than 90 degrees to keep the spine intact.
You strike me as someone who is deeply depressed, always making very negative comments even on the most joyful and wholesome of events, seemingly PARTICULARLY on such. Trying to inflict your misery on others, and feeding off their happiness vicariously.

Thanks friend, I needed that after the hostility of the the scumbag reply before yours.

As I read about his parents, I think about why there was high childhood mortality in those days. The ruling class wants us to believe that it's due to the lack of the wonders of pharmacology, but I think it was just because of rampant inbreeding.

The introduction scientifically confirms that the painter was exceedingly good to his mother and after her untimely death he still showed great appreciation for her Jewish physician who was not able to save her from cancer, and he made sure the good doctor safely emigrated to the USA.

I ordered it from the publisher directly. I am now on their newsletter list for sure.

A book by David Irving would be more appropriate - it would show that Unca A. was a bit of a hype train

The fallacy about his complete talentlessness in arts is also addressed by the scientists. While he did pass the preselection tests, it is true that he did fail the final selection test, along with 75% of the 112 applicants. Verdict:some talent but not deemed enough of it for the high standards of the academy

I will keep it in mind, but I have a lot of stuff to read first to achieve my bible thumper ambitions. A lot of required reading to do in terms of commentaries as well as the body of work produced by Joseph Ratzinger.
Currently reading Verbum Domini, which is quite hard to read as it leads me down many many many rabbitholes when googling advanced theological concepts which are referenced every other 5 sentences

I see, a true scholar and soon world class bodybuilder in the making.

Yes, I have great admiration for this man even though he chose the wrong denomination, he became a head of state, commanding over 1.25 billion believers across the globe and doing what he could to steer the Catholic church in the right direction. I assume he must have had an IQ north of 150. A true genius.

So basically we traded in Brian and got this.guy instead ???

Is there someone here good with art who could critique Hitler's paintings? What kind of things are looked at, what are the weaknesses here? Is it mostly technical aspects when it's life-like art like this?

I doubt it. But overall I get the sentiment that I could never produce a painting as good as he did, nevertheless I would not want it on my wall as it looks not great

I have to say I’m surprised and disappointed that GetBig does not have a name that instantly springs to mind. This is a big gap in our collective skill set, we’ve got countless watch experts but none for the finer arts?

Same. Doesn't look pleasant, but I couldn't produce this so it requires something. Maybe not talent or vision or taste or whatever, but at least some technical knowledge.
I know the Nazis had problems with 'degenerate' art but how do you even define that?

Yes pretty much some talent but not enough of it. Something like that.
Never heard of degenerate art. I am not really into art, I think it's useless.
-
Just to clarify, I believe it’s very hard to judge art because it’s so subjective. Does top shape Arnold beat Zane? There is no answer really without setting criteria. Arnold certainly won when they competed, but that doesn’t settle it entirely.

I have one of his watercolors, it’s a decent painting.
Back on topic. Mein Kampf was terrible and rambled too much. I think I made it about 115 pages in and couldn’t continue it was so boring and messy. He sure did exactly what he said he was gonna do though.

I suck at reading too. My mind easily wanders.
