One of them will win.

Shizzo likes the patriots.

Who wins the coin flip? Also, the Olympia men’s open should be the permanent halftime show

Football is boring.

One of them will win.
They will both fucking lose.

Shizzo likes the patriots.
Yes. That's because I surround myself with greatness. After all of these years.....The Pats and King Shizzo keep winning.

American football is so gay compared to rugby.

agreed!
;D
although NOTHING is gayer than the haka. seriously. gay as gay can be.

Jumbo jet filled with fuel as a halftime show?

This year's Super Bowl, yes.
I don’t think Football is boring, well sometimes it is obviously but I only said that because SF has that reply to most any sport topics.
Tonight’s game could be good and you never know how the officiating will be. The Seahawks are favored by 4.5 points and they just look like a better team. If they don’t win the line of scrimmage though they will lose.
-
Going to come down to Sam Darnold. He can be hot and cold, if they get to him, and revert him back to his old self throwing 3-4 interceptions, the Seahawks will lose
-
So many breaks in American football and so much padding its so cheesy.

They have to get the commercials in.
A zillion of them.

How to watch Kid Rock Super Bowl show...

Agreed, they should play in sequined thongs.
With exceptions, that would be a revolting picture
-
Half time show was a fucking disgrace. This is AMERICAN football!
-
So, is this game still going on?
Did one of the teams win the game yet or are they still playing football?
-
Half time show was a fucking disgrace. This is AMERICAN football!
It’s all about profitability for the owners. The NFL wants to take American football overseas (very similar by the way to what IFBB/NPC has been very successful at doing lately, not that the NFL gives two shits about the IFBB). Also, huge markets like Los Angeles have millions and millions of residents here at home who are Hispanic, and they watch “American” football WAY LESS than Whites and Blacks do. They want to bring those people in. The owners probably lean Republican, but the dollar drives them.
-
I’m so happy the patriots lost. All the pussies crying about it tomorrow as I laugh in their pathetic faces. Grow up you fucking Mary’s.
-

Watched the game while working on projects. This game was dreadfully boring, the Seahawks dominated from the beginning, making the Patriots look like a high school team. Too many lost interest very quickly. it was a very frustrating game to watch, didnt care who won, just wanted a good game to watch. Didn't watch too many commercials either, except the Dunking Donut one, which I thought was the most fun commercial of the night.
Halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin was entertaining. He did a good job, aka all in Spanish, but who cares. Lady Gaga sang in English. NFL wants an international audience, and probably succeeded a little in getting more people to watch, aka almost 10 million dollars a commercial. Damn. The Turning Point show, albeit live, was more like a concert arena, which will watch more of it later on, but Bad Bunny is the top most streamed singer in the world right now, and the 6th in the US. Can't complain on that. I find it funny that people are saying just because he is Puerto Rican, he isn't American. He is an American Citizent, to those who do not know geography.
-
Don’t disagree with any of that but here’s one thing to point out. Bad Bunny is on record as being in favor of Puerto Rico separating from the US (full independence, not statehood). That would “unmake” him a citizen.
-
That is true. Either the US makes Puerto Rico a state or lets them run a referendum to become their own 'country' if they wish. At the moment, he is a US Citizen. What happens in 5 or 10 years is a different story if they become separate. They can choose if they pass a referendum, but that is a whole different can of political worms. They can't vote in US elections, but they do vote on their own local self government.
Also, pretty sure the Super Bowl has had quite a few non-Americans playing at the half time show in the past.
-

Twice as many for the Super Bowl. I watched the Olympics instead.

My understanding is that full independence and US statehood (like Hawaii) are the least two popular options right now. Independence: (no Medicare? no hurricane help? no freely flying back and forth). Statehood: (lose our unique Spanish language culture? - Bad Bunny himself would be a good example of that risk). Most Puerto Ricans like it just the way it is and has been, in other words “please let’s just do nothing. It’s actually very nice being citizens, and boy are the Mexicans jealous”. But of course that can change, and someone like him certainly will influence the younger generation.

Why would they lose their culture if they became a state?

Why would they lose their culture if they became a state?
Language more than anything, at least that’s their fear. Hawaii became a state around 1958/60 (I forget exactly). Now everybody young in Hawaii pretty much speaks English.

We can't even get a lot of the immigrants here to speak English.
PR would be fine.
And, if their kids learned a second language, it's not a bad thing.

I don’t disagree. I am not Puerto Rican, but if I were from there, I would favor statehood. But it is true that our “American” culture does impact the younger generation eventually (not saying good or bad). If I were a Puerto Rican grandfather attached to the history of the island and wanting my grandchildren to remain attached to the Spanish language , I would want “status quo”.

I do completely understand that perspective, I just feel their worries are a bit overblown. I don't see anywhere near a full transformation from a culture that feels that strongly about their heritage.

I disagree. I live in an area where there are lots of ex-Germans (way back), ex-Irish (pretty far back), current Greeks, current Palestinians, current Mexicans, etc. Eventually the younger generations lose it. The German restaurants are mostly all gone, the Irish kind of hang on but not really, and the young Palestinian girls still have to wear their headscarves because their fathers make them do that, but they speak English just like everybody else. Lots of youngsters of Mexican heritage don’t know how to speak more than a few phrases of Spanish.

If they move physically, yes the chances of that happening are greater.
Folks in PR would not be relocating, so the risk of this only increases with mass immigration from non-hispanics.
But let's not get away from the fact that the Pats were exposed completely, and showed that maybe having the third easiest schedule in NFL history, and the easiest path to the SB, just MIGHT have made them appear to be a tad better than they were.

Yeah you have a point on them staying put, less likely to lose their language. And on the Patriots too.

The Superbowl was a joke. For the longest time it looked like it was the "Seahawk kicker's bowl"
So i tried watching the Olympics on replay. They suck too. I am quite happy Lindsey Vonn crashed though. That was entertaining.
I finally decided on watching one of my James Bond DVDs ;D

The Pats defense played great for most of the game. The offensive line was putrid and the current Seahawks D, played every bit as dominant as the "Legion of Boom" did.
For as good of a pick/player as Christian Gonzales is at corner, we might have just a big of a bust pick, with first round pick, offensive lineman, Will Cambell. Dude was getting manhandled like he was in the WWE Royal Rumble....
-
I would also like to add the the Patriots wayyyy overachieved this season. They were 14-3, won the division, and made it to the Superbowl.
Most Patriots fans would have been satisfied with a 9-8 records.
More proof of why I love football. No chance in he'll I would have picked the Patriots to make the Superbowl. That's why they play the games....
Hey Grape, if the Giants stay healthy next year, maybe they can make a similar run.

Well shit or not, the half time advertisers are laughing all the way to the bank. Most watched half time performance in NFL history. 140 million or thereabouts watching live.

Dude, they were like 4-13 last year, just making the play offs was a success, they overachieved, it’s a win win situation. Not many teams if any during a “rebuild” usually do what they did
-

They literally had, statistically, the third easiest schedule in NFL HISTORY. They did not face a top 10 QB in any playoff game, and only got by Denver because Payton took retard pills for 5 minutes. And Maye played poorly all postseason.
So when they played a real team, they got their asses handed to them.
Fuck them. I live near Gillette - the fans are insufferable. With all the gifts they got in the past, plus the elaborate cheating scheme, stealing a SB in a rebuild year would have been an abomination.

But all that is irrelevant lol
Like I said , they were 4-13 last year , easy schedule or not, how many times did what they’ve did?
You don’t win 6 titles with just cheating and gifts lol and be that dominant for 20 years
They were just that good
The whole east coast is a cesspool of douches and all their fans are insufferable whether Yankees, Mets, jets, bills , Red Sox, etc

Yes, they get credit for turning it around for sure. They have a great coach, great defense, and possibly a promising QB, albeit he had the worst statistical playoff run of any QB this century (min 3 GP). My point was that if they lucked into a SB, it would be catastrophic for any fan outside of NE.
But i will argue that historically, they won simply because they were good. They won their first three SB while spygate was going on. The system they utilized for cheating was unmatched - this is a great read:
https://www.espn.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/13533995/split-nfl-new-england-patriots-apart
They also got fined again after all this for filming the sidelines in cincy. Super cheaters.
Seattle and Atlanta handed them victories, as one simple obvious decision from each coach would have reversed the outcome. They only got to the Rams SB because of a hand in the neutral zone when the game had ended.........
Of course they were great teams though. 2007 was insane - 18 wins, 1 Giant loss. But they also had cheating, luck, and gifts along the way.
And Eli Manning owns them.
Agree about Mets, Sox, and Jets fans.

Well, you can also say those two losses to the giants were pure luck as well then. Helmet catch on a long 4th down, the second one with the dropped pass from Wes Welker that would have converted the 3rd down , which would have ended the game running the clock down
And the eagles loss, Brady threw for over 500 yards, defense completely loss that one for them
If you give the pats the two wins against the giants and take the Seattle and Atlanta game, it
Would still be the same amount of rings ;D
That’s just how sports go

Welker non-catch lucky for sure. I still think Brady put it in a bad spot, but Welker makes that catch almost every single time.
Good point on Eagles/Pats matchup - that was probably the best non-Giants SB I saw. Insane game.

Back in the day,I could tell you the stats on almost every player in the league......it`s been so long since I watched football I had no clue the SB was even on ???

I’m not sure anything changes, I don’t think people from the mainland would all of a sudden flock to Puerto Rico if it became a state. The US Virgin Islands are still the same as they always were, I think the Hawaii analogy isn’t the same because it’s got a large transient navy population which changes things.

Yeah, and when Tony Hinchliff made a joke about this at the MSG trump rally, the left tried to equate it to him saying Puerto Ricans were garbage.
