I fucking hateeeeeeeeee people, hate them all. Cant deal withthe gymtards anymore. Gonna have a setup in the garage, though mostly extensive heavy bag work and lots of stretching, core and bodyweight stuff. Gradually pick up equipment as time goes on. People man, fucking people

I cut that cord 15 years ago and did what you are describing.
Never looked back.

I started with a half rack and slowly went from there.
Check FB marketplace frequently - I scored $430 of Elieko bumpers last week for free.
People are moving all the time and need to dump stuff.

making gyms mainstream was a misstake...
well it was a matter of time with social media for average schmucks to discover it
gyms where better when it was mostly men, loners, misfits, serious bodybuilders/lifters and not as now avg joes and gym thots

Completely disagree. I’d hate a gym that was filled with loner & misfit men lol. Sounds like a nightmare. There’s so many hot women in revealing clothing at my gym, it’s a big reason why I go. Sure there’s some morons i gotta contend with but nothing major.

so what you never fuck any of them and it's just a distraction and annoyance from training
also women involved camraderie is lost among men. It's the same in the military.
so stop trying to sound masculine when you're just a creeper/coomer

Once I start back,I`ll be training at home...........too many fucktards in the gyms today filming stuff with pussy poundages!!
I`ve got an adjustable bench, tons and tons of plates,a curling bar, straight bar, some solid as well as adjustable dumbbells,a wrist roller,push-up bars, hand grippers, and an original power-twister (no homo). :D

Wish there was some way of getting close to you. I have a Rogue squat rack I would gladly give to you
-

should we start a Getbig shipping fund? I know there are 3rd party truckers that will add items to their loads. A Rogue squat stand is a great start for home gym.
Im with Josh and everyone else who is tired of the gym atmosphere. So many clowns, it’s hard to deal with. The new generation is different.
Yesterday Rep Fitness had a “garage sale” at their warehouse and I was surprised how big the home gym community has become.

Have a couple of other things I would throw in for him (a sled, clips, rogue plyo box)
Rogue used to do a 'scratch and dent' type of thing....it was INSANE how many people showed up

Speak for yourself. I met my current girlfriend at the gym and If I was single tomorrow, that’s where I’d start looking.

I lift weights to stay healthy and look decent, it’s not that serious for me. So being “distracted” by attractive women is a positive for me. Much preferred to looking at some balding juicehead wannabe bodybuilder. You don’t like looking at fit women in tights?
Like i said, if you prefer the company of loner & misfit men, have at it. Just not for me.

I have been training at home for the last 15 years.Completely missed this film every set of side laterals and tricep pushdown thing that is going on now.I have an old barn full of weights and benches and other equipment. Most of it came from yard sales and second hand stores. I almost never miss a workout because I can workout at 2 in the morning if I choose to.I will never go back to that chaotic commercial gym stuff.

Best equipment ever for upper body. Add weight and you can develop an incredible back and chest.

Have to agree. The gym is brutal if people are there. I’m timing it right lately where there is only 2-4 people there. Otherwise I would leave.
-
Back in the dark ages when I started after leaving my cellar and going to the local YMCA (the only place to train back then other than homo filled "health clubs")........the gyms were populated by bodybuilders, powerlifters, track and field athletes, football players, and arm wrestlers, for the most part.
Nobody filmed shit and the camaraderie was awesome.

That's the way it was for me at Everett's Golds with my friends.
I do wish I had a few bench presses on film though.

Choose a different time of day to go. I train at LA Fitness and between 2-4 when I go I have no issues.

The GoRuck bags SC recommended are more challenging IMO because they don't hold a shape. Plenty of handles for different grips.
-
to add to this thread I am soso tired of carrying 260 pounds around. I carry it well, but at 60 years old it gets tough. Iv busted my ass via training and nutrition to lose weight but its stubborn for me...so......I started Ozempic. I get it for free cause Im stink poor so I figured what the fuck, may as well try it. Just did my first shot this week

I made mine from surplus Army duffle bags.

Let us know how you make out with it.
The most I ever weighed was 240 at 6'2" back when I was 25.
I was in good shape but carrying that weight was uncomfortable.
Can't imagine 260.
Now I'm around 210 which probably the best weight for me. 67 yrs old.
I dropped down from 220 a few years back to 200 but felt too light.

Yes, they are great.
I have switched from sand, to pea gravel (nh) though.
