Can’t you get in trouble for trying to stop the fight? Like if you pull one of the attackers off and lightly bear hug them in an effort to stop them from fighting?

I knew a school teacher who told me that he would never step in between two girls who were fighting each other.
It would be all too easy for the girls to blame him for everything afterwards. So he just lets them fight.

I was a HS coach for 15 years, 10 of those at a public school and this is 100% correct
