Title: Collection texts
Post by: sync pulse on August 14, 2026, 03:43:13 PM
I am getting texts from a collection agency about owing money to a credit card from Tennessee that I have never possessed.  I looked up my record from Experian which indicates that I never had this account.

Have any you guys experienced this?

It's a con to get your info so they can really rip you off.

I suspected as much from the start. It's still irritating to be getting these texts.

Also at the back of my head I was worried that a hacker had gotten a fraudulent card account in my name.

I'm in the UK and random scam texts are normally pretending to be missed deliveries or demands from HMRC (our version of your IRS).  Checking the shitty links gives them away, but they rely on fooling honest old folk the bastards

Bit of a tangent, but I enjoy watching online scammers get payback on YouTube where experts hack into their offices and fuck their computers up in front of them  ;D
