All taxes suck. But it is better that they raise sales taxes rather than income taxes or property taxes. It is a blind tax. Everyone pays sales tax at the same rate. They don't punish some more than others.

"Understanding Regressive Taxes: Definition and Common Types
By Julia Kagan Updated July 07, 2026
Definition:
A regressive tax is a financial system where the tax rate remains the same for everyone, disproportionately affecting those with lower incomes by taking a larger share of their earnings.
Key Takeaways
A regressive tax is applied uniformly, placing a larger burden on low-income earners as it constitutes a higher percentage of their income.
Common examples of regressive taxes include sales taxes, excise taxes, tariffs, and user fees.
In contrast to regressive taxes, progressive taxes increase the tax rate as the payer’s income increases.
Proportional taxes, unlike regressive or progressive taxes, charge everyone the same percentage of their income."

Last month the wife and I took a road trip up to Santa Fe, NM. On the way we spent a couple of days in Flagstaff. Really liked it. We're to take another just to explore properties more there and up to Sedona. I said if I moved out or state it would have to be within at the most an hours flight away from my kids and grandkids. At this point that's what's holding us back. I don't think I'm that willing to leave my kids especially when I'm used to seeing them almost everyday.

The only sucky thing about Flagstaff is the college in town. Lots of faggy rainbow fliers in that area.

Don't tell anyone! Flagstaff really does. Plus it's a "mormom staging area" so it's clean and polite ;D

Ha!... Sedona... when you get there, it feels like it's in its own "bubble" the red mountains from the "Cars" movie :). I love that place. We head there when it's get too hot here.
Do it Coach. I never looked back. Sure I miss Pacific Beach but we have a surf park in Mesa 8)

Good call lol.. it is.. and the county jail... nicest in AZ, so DUI victims who have to "serve" 24/48hrs head up there.

Lots of "guys" excited about "fagstaffs" in this thread

If we bought it would be on the outskirts about 5 miles out the town itself. I think it's still considered Flagstaff. But it's expensive af but a lot less than HB.

We checked out property right below Snow Bowl. Beautiful area. Road is closed into town during winter, you have to head into Williams to get supplies unless you're lucky enough to get into Bellemont.
