I cannot believe it. It has been going on for so long this case, all the accusations, all the arguments whether he is innocent or not has come to an end. For those unaware, he is a famous comedian, actor who is highly controversial and has recently been found of multiple counts including rape and sexual assault. He will be sentenced on Monday (Tuesday for people in countries like Australia). Most legal analysts are expecting a sentence of at least 5+ years due to the severity of the crime and how many victims came forward.
When will Russell Brand be sentenced, and how long could he be in prison?
(NEXSTAR) – Russell Brand, the British comedian and actor who appeared in such films as “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Get Him to the Greek,” was convicted of rape and sexual assault in a London court on Thursday.
A jury reached their verdict after two days of deliberations and following weeks of arguments and evidence that included testimony from six women who accused Brand of sexual misconduct as far back as 2009.
Brand, 51, had pleaded not guilty to all charges, but acknowledged during the trial that he had been obsessed with sex as a younger man and used his fame to “facilitate sexual access,” which he alleged to be consensual.

After the verdict was read on Thursday, Judge Joel Bennathan denied Brand’s bail request. He was taken into custody and is due back in court for sentencing on Monday.
How long a sentence is Brand facing?
Brand was convicted on one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. He was acquitted of two other counts of rape and one count of attempted indecent assault.
Judge Bennethan said Brand would be sentenced to “significant custodial time” at his sentencing on Monday. A rape charge in the U.K carries the possibility of a life sentence, though it is usually between four and 19 years, The New York Times and Variety reported. A sexual assault conviction is punishable by imprisonment of up to 10 years, the latter outlet reported.
After the verdict, police also presented prosecutors with evidence of their investigation into two more rape allegations against Brand.
