And now its confirmed that cormier is with yates. That means hes serious and yates wont put his own rep on the line to have chris half ass it this year. Chris is Mr Olympia potential and will have to dig deeper than ever before to bring it out....literally live in a world of pain for months ata time.....Its going to be HELL to put your name in the books Chris, but its now or never........2006 Mr Olympia.

ALL the times I seen him (ASC, guest posing, Olympia etc...) his cell phone was glued to his hear...every single time...just lives on it...stays on it like his life-force is hooked into it. A buddy of mine who trains occasionally at Golds/Venice told me a few times he seen Chris 'train' at that gym and he'll do a set...talk on his phone for 15 minutes...put the phone DOWN to do another set...grab the phone again...
I guess it was common...everytime. No wonder he couldnt train hard...worrying too much about juggling his bitches/ho's. So hopefully he gets no reception out there or Yates just completely takes it away.

Well, since Chris is always on the cell, then he aint afraid of technology. Maybe he has one of those phones that has internet??? I also agree hes likely to be homesick and should log on to getbig to get some love/hate that were famous for. ;D Rons got that section for the pros now and something productive could come out of it.
I hope he stays focused and gets this over with....time is not going to be on his side much longer.

Chris is a great bodybuilder but has never come in dry enough to be a threat at the Olympia. He's also not Mr. O caliber which encompases more than just a physique. As a respresentative of the sport and the IFBB a Mr. O has to have a certain image and all the partying, tatoos, recreational drugs, etc. that are associated with him will forever keep him from winning the top shows, i.e. the Arnold, Mr. O. His time as a competitor is slowly coming to an end, if I were him I'd win the Ironman one more time and call it a day.

When you enter as many shows as Chris does it's hard to hit your peak every single time. He took this year off just to focus on the O. He's currently training twice a day with no distractions. He will surprise alot of people at the Olympia.

I agree...what can Yates really do? The best thing IMO is take away his cell phone. In the latest MD Chris was talking about how when he does cardio he's on the phone. Brutal focus, intensity! On the phone while doing cardio. In my expierence...the one who does cardio who's mind is on what is happeneing to his body and how he will look because of it...gets the best results. Mind over Matter. Thats why he came in looking 4 weeks out last 'O'. While Chris plays on his cell...guys like Ronnie and Jay are quiet and focused and getting their work done on the tread or stairmill...thiking about the goal keeping their eye on the prize.

Thanks...... Dont want to come off like a dick block. But sometimes BB can be to determined or obsessive. Slacking off while lifting weights I agree with you totally. But with the cardio talking on a cell in theory would burn more calories (not many obviously) but would burn more forcing the body to move the mouth and stabalize the body as to not fall since your mind is on the convo.

Nothing wrong w/ listening to music...but talkin on the phone while doing cardio is the same as READING a book or something while doing cardio. Look around at the gym...who are the ones doing cardio and reading? Uh huh...how about the ones who arent reading or talking...why do they LOOK like they keep up with cardio? Focus! Mind over matter...while Jay does cardio. I'm willing to bet he thinks about his body...visualizes his bodyfat melting away...imagines how he wants to look on stage in other words...he stays focused. he probably squeezes his hams/glutes...thinks about his breathing etc...
Same while training. Guys like Dorian/Ronnie even Jay are thinking about the task at hand, adding another plate on...debating if a drop set is needed or if they can crank out two more reps. Dorian never took his eyes off the floor while training, Ronnie wouldnt dare to break his concetration...Jay as well.
Then you have Chris...text messaging his bitches/ho's in between sets. trying to scam on lower-back tattooed little tricks in the gym when he should be focused and concetrating on his next set and if he should hold it for a 3-4 second static hold or if he should ask a spotter for a few forced reps. NOPE! he has his cellphone glued to his ear.
The cell phone while cardio decreases his focus on the task at hand...his cell phone IMO...is what is going to hold him back to where he should be placing.

Nothing wrong w/ listening to music...but talkin on the phone while doing cardio is the same as READING a book or something while doing cardio. Look around at the gym...who are the ones doing cardio and reading? Uh huh...how about the ones who arent reading or talking...why do they LOOK like they keep up with cardio? Focus! Mind over matter...while Jay does cardio. I'm willing to bet he thinks about his body...visualizes his bodyfat melting away...imagines how he wants to look on stage in other words...he stays focused. he probably squeezes his hams/glutes...thinks about his breathing etc...
Same while training. Guys like Dorian/Ronnie even Jay are thinking about the task at hand, adding another plate on...debating if a drop set is needed or if they can crank out two more reps. Dorian never took his eyes off the floor while training, Ronnie wouldnt dare to break his concetration...Jay as well.
Then you have Chris...text messaging his bitches/ho's in between sets. trying to scam on lower-back tattooed little tricks in the gym when he should be focused and concetrating on his next set and if he should hold it for a 3-4 second static hold or if he should ask a spotter for a few forced reps. NOPE! he has his cellphone glued to his ear.
The cell phone while cardio decreases his focus on the task at hand...his cell phone IMO...is what is going to hold him back to where he should be placing.

haha now you are saying reading a magazine while doing cardio takes away from the results? Then saying look around at the people who read for the proof. I am sure since they are reading they look like shit not due to diet and inconsistant training.
The FACTS are that reading or talking while doing cardio has absolutly no effect on fat loss. Exact same as just sitting there and doing the cardio. There is absolutly no evidence to support your claims ( credible that is)

I think you have the right idea. Just the wrong outlet. Chris does not have his eye on the ball while training. When it is with the weights if one is not intense and not focused like you said. Say goodbye to muscular gains.
It is very simple to see why Chris places crappy. His head is not in the game. I agree with you on that much. I was just stating that I do not bleive reading or talking during cardio have much effect on results.
We can both agree that he is wasting some of the best genetics ever!

I concur with you right there...he has the BEST combination of size, aesthetics, symmetry etc...of any IFBB pro out there...thats why I sling so much siht about him on these forums...it's because it bugs me he is throwing his potential and is going to end his career which is...no less than astonishing and impressive...but he should go out on top. He's too damn good to let it waste over text messages, bitches/ho's and the drama scene at Gold's-Venice.

I can see Blockhead's way of thinking towards this actually.Let's say you want to do the treadmill for say a 6mph speed.While talking on the cell phone you could lose concentration & the speed will drop to let's say 3-4 mph.The speed has dropped & so has the fat loss ability of the extra 2-3 mph.

And you would lose more fat at 3 - 4 mph than 6. Low intensity cardio cuases one to lose only bodyfat. High would induce more "weight" but that would include muscle and water. Hence why most BB are at a brisk walk on the treadmill.

I think the reverse is true- cardio productivity would either be unaffected, or even improved, by using headphones, as opposed to "brutal concentration".
Why? Cause when you're bored and plodding away, your mind is going to travel to your worries of the day. You're going to think about what's next (natural when doing tedious thigns). This leads to elevated stress levels (as most of us face stressors in everyday life) and higher cortisol levels.
When you're zoned out with some B.I.G. or some jigga rattlig your ears, you're not thinking about work crisii or relationship woes. you're focusing on money hoes and clothes- all the runner knows. You're already taxing your CNS with the cardio, so let your mind be at ease.
