Keep it clean this time so the thread stays here guys.

I would vote for Branch Warren after reading about his near death experience at the 2001 nationals.  Funny thing is, Tom Prince was the one who provided him with the diuretics for that show.

Don't pretend for a second there weren't long term consequences from that Branch.

Ron coleman, it will happen.

He says he's healthier than his doctor.

I do wonder about Jay sometimes though.  He is beet red all the time but that might just be from the tanning.

That's what he says remember he has endorsements we will never know what is really happening behind the scenes but it is not good.  I don't wish harm but he is playing with some dangerous drugs and is in no way a role model for children.

Judge/promoter *Merv Steinberger* won't make it two years.  His father passed away at 43 from heart disease.  it's common knowledge that he is usually quite emotional, roided out the ass, and gets into arguments at a lot of shows.  Man is beetfaced red at many shows.  My money is on him next.

Dexter because of the extremes he puts his body through to get so shreded (and past out at the Arnold)

Victor Martinez, from what I hear he not only trains hard but parties in the same fashion

and you believe that shit? With all the juices and GH that gorilla ate and he's healthier than his doctor?

Man, I wonder if his doctor is sick at that time

Dude, Warren looks really bad compared to five years ago, wow how can you do that to yourself.  He must have mental problems.

Maybe Branch has that condition causing the face to redden/splotch when body temp rises. Maybe it's something he takes pre-show to thin the skin.

I personally think he's probably fine.  If his skin is that thin all over his body, it's going to be that thin on his head and show whatever's going on beneath the skin.

I think fans equate paper skin with harder working guys.  Branch is usually the most popular guy in any show he's in from the house fans- boos reign down when he takes 2nd, no matter what.  And he's had some cover shots too.  So despite that grill, ppl like him.

it's called bad Pro Tan application......If you look at competitors, many do not put anything on their face as the sweating from the lights causes it to run....

Agreed, but if the competitors where a bit smarter, they would use a different tanner for their face (like loreal or some stuff they can get at the drug store).  That stuff "holds" better when sweating - and who cares if the face isn't quite as dark, at least it's better than a runny, blotchy tan...

Funny thing is, if you compare competition pics, these guys look 10-15 years older than they actually are!
I noticed this with Levrone, he looks like he's in his 20 now, when he competed he looked like late 30s.

When i saw Coleman from close, i was astonished about how good his skin really looked. He looked better than most 40 years olds.

Even if roids and the extreme conditions before competitions would make you look older, the huge amounts of GH would also have their effect to keep the body younger in a way.
Either way, being a professional bodybuilder is not the healthiest thing you can do in your life.

The diuretics Tom Prince gave him caused him to cramp up so badly he needed to go to the emergency room.

Being "hardcore" and an "iron warrior" he opted not to go.  Mostly because the idiot who he was with didn't let him.  Branch was there cramping in agony and the guy refused to bring him to the E.R.

24 hours later the guy won his pro card.  Judges are definitely to blame too.
are you saying that extremes are needed to become a "pro", Matt?

Yeah, extreme drug use lol.

Look at Tom Prince and Craig Titus when they came off.  Both were barely over 180.
i think 180 is being generous when it comes to Prince but yeah, they were quite slim weren't they?
Title: Re: Who's Next in the BB Dead Pool?

Tom looked to be 170 and Craig looked 190 so it averaged out.  ;D

Post by: Earl1972 on May 25, 2006, 10:24:40 AM
Exactly.  ;D

Staying out of the gym would have had some effect.  Honestly if you eat big and juice like those guys you would grow doing pushups.  In fact, I will go on record to say that you would be significantly more muscled than the average man by doing NOTHING except for eating.  Yes, that's right - NOTHING.  You could sit on the couch watching TV and if you eat enough protein to synthesize you will grow if you take massive quantities of juice.

you don't need "big" muscles to be more musular that the average man

the average man would struggle benching 150

you need to lift to hold on to your strength and muscle that was built through training

if you don't use it you lose it

I would say Alexxx

dude went from 160 to 185 in like 4 years. He has to be on heavy gear.  How else can you explain benching 225 for 4 reps without spotter?

At that rate once Ronnie retires next year Alexx is next in line.

also, from how he looks now, his receptors have shut down.  that cant be good.

From the crop of bb:s that compete today i´m gonna go out and say that the following guys are topcontenders of dying from extreme drug use (in no particular order):

1. Branch Warren - Just does´nt look healthy. He has that drug look written over him.

5. Martin Kjellström - Rumours of being a HEAVY drug user. 4:th tier pro still.

If you took the quantity of roids pros took you would grow just flexing your muscles.  Don't think for a second the average man wouldn't be huge taking what they take.

Pros eat big, workout hard and inject massive quantities of juice.  It's pretty simple.  The only hard part I can see there is consuming the amount of calories required to grow.

yeah but you can't expect tom and craig to still be muscular when they don't train or diet anymore

Stop pretending that training means much when it comes to steroid use.  The scientific evidence proves otherwise.

i'm not saying it doesn't mean much

tom and craig look like normal people again because they built unnecessary muscle mass, drugs or no drugs it doesn't matter

it doesn't matter whether you are natural or not you will shrink up to the weight your body wants to be once you quit training, dieting, and yeah if you use drugs too

if you build your body up to a lean 180 naturally and then quit dieting and training you will go back to your normal size

the human body doesn't need more excessive muscle to survive so the fact that everybody expects tom and craig to be atleast 220 and shredded without training or dieting anymore is laughable

LOL< thaqt had to have been the most retarded supplement ad ever.I implied that you could be the big massive bull if you took this HGH promoting amino acid deal. I guess some knuckleheads bought it?

While I know nobody here actually wishes any pro to die, I do think it is bad taste to have Dead pools as a thread.
I will get the chance to see Branch Warren in a couple weeks, he is guest poser at an NPC show in Chattanooga, Tenn, about 70 miles N of my house.I will see Dexter in Gadsen , AL at a show on the 17th of June and am judging the NPC La, where Jay will guest pose. I will try and post some pics. I am hopeful they will look healthy enough to end the rumors like this, but that is up to you.

What is sad is that soooo many fans and some in the sport actually encourage this kind of extreme drug use /look freaky behavior. I don't .  Thanks, Howard

I agree and I don't agree. Sure, it's wallowing in the cynicism and nastiness that BB fans are widely noted for. But it's also the only acknowledgement anyone connected to the sport is making of the elephant taking large smelly dumps in the middle of the living room. So however uncouth it might be to moan over the stench and projectile vomit over the back of the couch, no one is ever going to do something about that nasty elephant if everyone just keeps politely pretending that it's not there.

Look at it this way. If our adolescent snarking over the fate of Branch Warren's kidneys convinces one ambitious amateur that becoming a third-tier pro isn't worth flushing his health down the toilet for, something good will have come of all this.
