Easily forgotten what an overwhelming favorite he was to win the Olympia at least a couple of times in the late 70s; was basically robbed. Would've been ranked as one of the all-time greats if he'd been allowed to win IMO.

Just like Padilla, Szkalak, Mentzer and others, he ended up leaving the IFBB in the early 80s as a result.

He did win the Olympia - twice, in fact. In 1977 and 78, he won the heavyweight class but lost the overall to Zane.

I would like to see how he looks today at 60 compared to himself back in the day, he is like Ed Corney and Al Beckles when is comes to longevity.

Many of you might not know this, but the Weider bust that is seen on all of the FLEX and Muscle&Fitness mags was actually sculpted after Robbie's torso with Joe Weider's head on it. Robbie had no say in it.

Here's a vivid reminder that he was robbed of at least 2 Olympias that would have elevated him higher, to one of the greats. At the time of those contests he was considered as unbeatable as Sergio or Arnold:

Well, Robby was, and is, one of the greats. Who cares about the crooked, rotten judging? Now this right here is what I call THE clean, yet thick & wide, lat spread benchmark!

Thanks Musclememory.com!

Robby also won the overall in the inaugural Masters Olympia contest in 1994, and took 1st in the Masters O 50+ division in 1997 and 2000.

It's interesting to note that Robby, like a few other old-timers, has a competitive record spanning four decades, beginning in 1974 and his last contest was in 2001.  That's longevity!

Again, thanks to www.musclememory.com for the info.
