The Black Prince Robby has just recently celebrated his 60th birthday. To commemorate this legend's lasting contribution to the sport, here is a vintage pictorial tribute to one of the finest bodybuilders and iron warriors in history.
-
Besides the obvious towering peak, the sheer mass and volume of Robby's arms & delts are eye-popping!
-
He still has ladies behind him.
-
A two picture " vintage pictorial tribute? " Come on, you can do better than that.
The Beef

i think he's a girl
but all opinions aside.. happy bday!!
-
in pumping iron when he was posing it was very impressive,im suprised he never grabbed the olympia at least once,i thought he was just as good as zane if not better
-
Easily forgotten what an overwhelming favorite he was to win the Olympia at least a couple of times in the late 70s; was basically robbed. Would've been ranked as one of the all-time greats if he'd been allowed to win IMO.
Just like Padilla, Szkalak, Mentzer and others, he ended up leaving the IFBB in the early 80s as a result.
-
He did win the Olympia - twice, in fact. In 1977 and 78, he won the heavyweight class but lost the overall to Zane.
Thanks Musclememory.com!
-
robbie was awesome, best bicep peak around back then, beckles and boyer had great peaks also
-
I would like to see how he looks today at 60 compared to himself back in the day, he is like Ed Corney and Al Beckles when is comes to longevity.

Robby R doesnt allow the posting of his pics anywhere, anyone who does so is subject to lawsuit....
-
Many of you might not know this, but the Weider bust that is seen on all of the FLEX and Muscle&Fitness mags was actually sculpted after Robbie's torso with Joe Weider's head on it. Robbie had no say in it.

NO WAY FRANK ZANE SHOULD HAVE EVER BEAT ROBBY.
Exactly. And below is more proof positive as to just why...shredded & supremely veiny!

ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BODYBUILDERS. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBBY.
-
happy birfday robert

Here's a vivid reminder that he was robbed of at least 2 Olympias that would have elevated him higher, to one of the greats. At the time of those contests he was considered as unbeatable as Sergio or Arnold:

Well, Robby was, and is, one of the greats. Who cares about the crooked, rotten judging? Now this right here is what I call THE clean, yet thick & wide, lat spread benchmark!
-
Robby with monster arm development!
-
Robby does not allow Weider mags to use ANY pics of him at all. I always forget how awesome he is because of low exposure.
-
To the First and True Uncrowned Mr.Olympia! Robby on the cover of the old "MuscleBuilder & Power" mag kept us all dreaming! Note the miniscule waist- not seen anywhere in pro bodybuilding today as our beloved sport has "evolved".
-
Robby squeezing da old biceps for all they were worth...classic '70s shot!
He's working his tris there
-
He's working his tris there
Yeah but pumpin' da massive bis too obviously.
-
Robby the scrapper, always tuff as nails...thick, wide and bicep split off the chart!
-
Robby straining like a bull while DLing 600 lbs! :o
-
Robby epitomising the meaning of brutal back training and complete arm development as well!
-

Thanks Musclememory.com!
Robby also won the overall in the inaugural Masters Olympia contest in 1994, and took 1st in the Masters O 50+ division in 1997 and 2000.
It's interesting to note that Robby, like a few other old-timers, has a competitive record spanning four decades, beginning in 1974 and his last contest was in 2001. That's longevity!
Again, thanks to www.musclememory.com for the info.

I look up to guys like Robby, Al beckles, Ed corney ect....... cause of the fact that they have been in good shape for all those years even when in off season mode or when retired, they just never quit and never will 8)
