Title: Pros that post here, your thoughts on scoreboards
Post by: thisiskeith12 on June 06, 2006, 07:21:37 PM
To all pro's that post here:

What are your thoughts about bringing a scoreboard or ticker at these events? Live scoring would be much more appreciated! This is the only sport without a scoreboard and the score matters most. What's the deal on this and how come there hasn't been a move for this? Not even a ticker of somewhat?! No reason NOT to have one.

There'll be live scoring on the Mr GetBig contest.

...if Ron actually allows me to run it the way I want to.

Live scoring would present a level of accountability that the judges have never had to deal with before.

They are not prepared for this, but the competitors and fans certainly are.

What sort of scoring system would you employ?

The same scoring ways they have installed now, but just live active updates for persons in attendance. There's no reason NOT to have it. If bodybuilding is a monopoly with someone sucking all the money, which it is, it would account for money anyway for that person. People would get more involved and it would be more intense.

Great idea that will never ever be implemented.

Won't happen.

None of the pro's have spoke on this.

I'mm all for it...

There are many changes that are being implemented...judging system being #1 on the list.

Don't be so sure this won't happen in the near future, I've already suggested this as a way to increase entertainment and fan appeal...lets see what happens.

Very good suggestion Bob! Nice crack on Johnnie this weekend, my friend and I were laughing about that the whole night.

Good job for trying to push it through but there's no way the judges will allow themselves to be scrutinized in such a way.

It will allow them to be held accountable for their actions and that won't happen.

Good job for trying though.

A rotation of judges like the NPC does would also benefit the IFBB.

Scores can also take away some of the drama... which some fans complained about.  This board is fun... but many of the posters dont even go to shows.

This notion is obsurd. There is no good reason NOT to have scoreboards and live scores at a show. None at all!

I think a scoreboard would be great.  Keith, you're so smart!

I think this is a great idea but would you want to see

Judge 1 gives Darrem Charles 2

Or just 2,3,4,5?

I don't know if Judges want the audience to see the marks they are giving. It has been said on numerous occasions by Bob and others that the scorecards are available to the COMPETITORS but when asked why WE the fans cannot see it...never a direct answer....

Personally I'd love it!!
