Title: protein
Post by: lilwoday09smb on June 07, 2006, 01:35:53 PM
ive been taking protein for the past year. only really been lifting hard for a year. however i notice i feel really bloated and watery on the protein. i was wondering if i would be better to skip the shakes and try to eat one more protein meal a day. however by doing this i would probaly loose out on about 50 grams of protein. right now a normal day for me looks like this

7 am : 6 eggs

10:30 am: protein shake about 45 grams

lunch: 2 cans tuna w a lil mayo or 2 chicken breast sandwich

pre workout: protein shake or 2 scoops peanut butter

post workout: protein shake

dinner: chiken, steak, turkey. ect.
(really dont have much choice over dinner considering i live with parents)

you can replace the protein powder with food if you have the time... however, i would suggest that if your protein powder makes you feel gassy and bloated, you probably bought a cheap one....

ive been taking Optimum 100% Whey Protein. im really just trying to loose a lil more body fat. 2 percent would be perfect. i do the cardio and eat pretty clean. i just feel bloated after the protein. like it waits me down more than solid food

Try Brewers yeast. 16 grams of complete protein in two tablespoons-  easily digested/assimilated (no bloating), plus about a million extras (trace minerals, fiber etc).

drink more water.
or mix it with water, he's probably mixing it with milk which is never necessary and will cause gastric problems in the majority of people, i mix ON 100% Whey with water and never have problems.

Eat a whole food meal before your training session in place of a shake.I feel 2 shakes a day is all that is necessary as long as your other 3-4 meals are whole food meals & well balanced.
