Title: David Henry's comments in new MD!
Post by: sarcasm on June 16, 2006, 01:57:05 PM
in his article in the new MD a guy writes a letter to him saying "i'm tremendously strong, i incline the 170's for 4, squat 750, deadlift 715 and close grip 415 for 4" and Dave says "those are good numbers, when i posted that i did one arm triceps extensions with a 130lb. dumbell some internet nerds said i was lying and i said i'll tell you what, i'll let you come to my gym and i'll give you 130 dollars for every rep you complete, needless to say i didn't have any takers" what do you think?

Before he claimed to do 1 arm tri extension with 90lbs which is hard to believe,  now it's up to 130?

He must move the dumbell like 2 inches to use that heavy a dumbell.   In the clips of him training he does half reps.  Him and Kamali train like assholes.

What I'm trying to say is he'd be a swimmer without anabolics.

are you implying that there's a very good chance that Dave Henry would be pressing the 25's without the use of special supplements, Bast?

Well i said he's a bitch and i bet he can't out shoulder press me with 200lbs dumbells, so i offered him $1000 for every rep he did and what do you know........... he didn't take the offer ::)

What a jackoff, like someone is gonna travel to his gym to prove he can or can't do it....... he sounds kinda like the people on the boards........

Squat 750?

LMFAO.

If he claims a raw squat with 750 lbs, with belt only, I think he's seriously bullshitting or somehow misinterpreted what a squat is.

Quarter squats doesn't count.

The squat Ronnie Coleman did in Cost of redemption - no lift.

Ronnie's squat in COR might not have passed in PL comp. but it was still pretty decent depth.

Yes.

Sadly, would've passed in a few federations probably.

After seeing Chuck Vogelpohl getting his 1000 lbs quarter squat passed in WPO, I've seen it all.

Dave Henry would be pretty much on par with Ronnies squatting strength if he did the 750 lbs raw.

a full ROM with 130lb. db on that exercise would tear his arm out of the socket and leave it a bloody pile on the floor.

....lemme get this straight...he makes a claim, that is doubtful, or at least doubt is expressed.

So his solution is to get those who doubt it to try it? That's like claiming to do a 9 second 100m, have some athletics officials say ''i dont think so'', then you tell them to come down and try it themselves- if they are so smart...

what the heck does that prove or disprove?

obviously he'd want to display his claim to the doubters wouldnt he?....not have them display it to him.

ive said it before and will again...drugs make people extra stupid. if you start stupid you are at a disadvantage.

THE THOUGHT of doing 130 overhead tricep extension, makes my elbow hurt!!!!  :o
Hell, At the end of my workout I work up to a 45 for reps, single overheads..I cant imagina a 130lb dumbell....I cant see the humam physiology of your elbow taking so much pressure directly on the elbow like that...Its mind boggling...simpl;y mind boggling...

I seem to recall he actually claimed 160lbs in one arm tri ext. Even if he said 130lbs that's just so ridiculous. I'd like to what thos look like.... I don't think there is a man on earth who can do even one rep with 130 with anything resembling full range of motion. I think Levrone, Coleman etc use like 60-70 tops... Henry using 130?? LOL

I've seen pictures of DH using 90s or 95s. Before that, the highest I'd seen was Gunter doing 75's on his Flex cover 2 years ago

Yeah, and that's most likely just lowering or holding the dumbell while they snap aa few pics.
Even if he could use 95s it's a LONG way from 130.

This is how it works
when someone asks you how much you can press, you tend to round up to the next round number
eg. when someone asks for my max bench for reps, i tell them 300 lbs for 3 reps even though its 2 plates on each side with 22s and 10s = 280 lbs.  its just the way guys are; they're proud and loves to exaggerate.
IMO i think david henry really can't do one arm extensions with 130s or 160s but he has to be over 100, maybe around 115 - 120 lbs.  No one would lie too much for the fear of being called out on it.  like when a guy says he can pick up any of the bitchs in this place or that he's hit 4 digits.  strictly horse shit.  usually its a lie that is somewhat true.
dont forget, DH has some of the sickest tris in the business.  His tris look as if they too big than they should have.  its as if they hit a peak and he somehow got them bigger against his body's will.  When he hits the triceps pose, his arm looks overstressed with muscle.
but he has a sick ass back
and he dont need to do cardio for comps, dont care what anyone says, that is crazy genetics and anyone that says otherwise is a jealous homo.

Between that and the Hammer curl on he cover with the fake DB, Dave Henry is officially in the ASSHOLE column. Iv'e read on here that he is a dildo, I guess it's true.

All you people gotta back up the truck and think about this for a minute...don't you all here realize that David Henry is on the MuscleTech Stack?

The little guy uses Anatorp70, CellTech, NitroTech, Gacik, Leucik and Ceakic...it's obvious you people never used the MuscleTech Stack. MuscleTech is proven to bring a one arm dumbbell tricep extension increase in strength up to 1879%.

Dr. Marvin Huer says so...he isnt just an actor in a labcoat with a clip board and text book open on the prop-counter top...he's a credible super-scientist who has been doing research for over 10 years at many universities across the country.

I'm willing to bet Dave Henry was able to do no more than 45's maybe 60's on that exercise...now that he is using the MuscleTech stack...rumor has it he is already slinging the 150's.

Henry is not a powerlifter, so who give a fuck what weight he uses.  There is not a "how much do you deadlift pose".  All that matters is that he comes into a show in good condition.  Yes, pros use anabolics.  But you still have to train hard and eat good.  You can't take drugs and not train hard.

I always subtract about 15-20lbs when a pro says what his bests lifts are.  Unless you see them do it, don't get caught up in what they lift.  Also, subtract 10 lbs from their contest weight.  Do you really think Dex is 230lbs??  C'mon.  Ronnie and J. Jackson are the two guys that are as strong as they look.

i'd say subtract a loy more than 15-20 from their lifts and to me the only place Johnnie looks strong is in his upper body, the man's legs are toothpicks.

Everyone said I was the most conditioned, ripped competitor in the whole show as I cruised to victory, and pro status, winning the middleweight class. You’ll get crazy results with this stuff and I’m excited to bring it with me to the pros. Thanks, SprayFlex!”

Scientifically erroneous.  You CAN take drugs and not train hard.

What you can't do is take drugs and not EAT lots.  Steroids do not create protein, just greatly increase protein synthesis with or without hard training.

Fuck your scientific BS.  Take 1500mgs of test a week and use light weight and see how big you get.

f**k your scientific BS.  Take 1500mgs of test a week and use light weight and see how big you get.
you'll get a lot bigger than someone who takes nothing and trains the same way, that's the point he's making Mike.

i'd say subtract a loy more than 15-20 from their lifts

I agree. It's more like a 20 percent or more exaggeration on the lifts and a good 10% bodyweight exaggeration. I remember reading Muscle and Fitness in junior high (about a quarter century ago), when M&F wrote about light heavyweight Mr America Tim Belknap supposedly competing at about 220, and supposedly squatting 655 for 20 and benching 485 for ten... ::)

I was later told by someone who trained in the same gym with him back then that 100 pounds was added to the bench and a good 150 was added to the squat for that article. His actual competitive bodyweight and actual lifts were very impressive in and of themselves, but the ridiculous exaggerations really strain credibility, to say the least.

I've noticed this trend to be a rule rather than an exception over the years unfortunately.

in his article in the new MD a guy writes a letter to him saying "i'm tremendously strong, i incline the 170's for 4, squat 750, deadlift 715 and close grip 415 for 4" and Dave says "those are good numbers, when i posted that i did one arm triceps extensions with a 130lb. dumbell some internet nerds said i was lying and i said i'll tell you what, i'll let you come to my gym and i'll give you 130 dollars for every rep you complete, needless to say i didn't have any takers" what do you think?

With 4 spotters on each side?

Looks like someone got the Kamalism

Squat 750?

LMFAO.

If he claims a raw squat with 750 lbs, with belt only, I think he's seriously bullshitting or somehow misinterpreted what a squat is.

Quarter squats doesn't count.

The squat Ronnie Coleman did in Cost of redemption - no lift.

YIP
Zack

he could do it....1/4 squat on the smith machine..with the safety guards on...and 2 4 spotters

Ah,,,, the power of muscletech products. these muscletech guys are Marketing geniuses. they're able to feed  us and even try to convinced us that muscletech is the ultimate in sports supplements. Well, I guess they have the money to lure every Bodybuilder in the pro circuit to show up at the studio all pumped up and tell us HOW MUCH THEY LOVE MUSCLETECH.....hahahaha

King can get 675 easily. LMAO.  I think im gonna go for 500 tomorrow with my twelve spotters

this...is not 675, it is 645 because that type of smith machine the bar is counter-balanced to 15lbs.  so it is 645 and if he were to try that weight on a free squat he would be severly injured due to the fact that he can't lift it without several people helping...
