Title: Cutler and his Rice Cakes
Post by: Adam Empire on June 17, 2006, 11:48:59 AM
Maybe I'm missing something here, but did anybody else notice how many rice cakes this guy eats a day in his dvd's?  Tons.  But why?  Don't they just fill him up with out giving him much nutrition?  He wasn't even dieting at the time.  Wouldn't he get more bang for his buck with a different type of food?

Can somebody explain this?

constant, although small, stream of carbs to stay anabolic without gorging the stomach with ungodly amounts of food in a single sitting and thus expanding the waistline

Jay states in more than one of his tapes that he tries to get in AT LEAST 1000gms  (thats ONE THOUSAND gms) of carbs/day.

It's most likely a combination of convienence and ingesting something that is not so filling.

1. they swell like my wang while looking at naked pics of 240 or bust Stella

2. they are processed, high sodium ... probably kinda high on the glycemic index... but overall very low cal...

Right, so why would he eat a low calorie expanding sponge?  There are hardly any carbs in them either...

If you have a good diet outlined then the rice cakes are ok, GI is high, Dan Duchaine hated them for dieting, but they can help alot. It also keeps the stomach lighter, instead of eating rice or a another carb.

Well, I just bought some and they taste ok.  But I certainly wouldn't eat like a dozen a day for bulking or dieting.  I prefer oatmeal.

(On a side note, I also saw Cheese flavored Grits at the store and thought of Ronnie and his slice of cheese on his).  :D

When I was in high school and was cutting weight for wrestling,I would eat tons of em.Air popped popcorn was another thing I used to fill my gut when I was starving and dehydrated. No nutritional value at all really but it was good to keep the hunger pains away.
