Is there a major benefit to drinking mineral water instead of tap water? As I am fairly environmentally concious I know that drinking mineral water is one of the least environmentally responsible choices to make. Worth it or not?

I too, am quite environmentally concious. I drink Gerolsteiner mineral water all the time. It's great, try it. Probably some of the cleanest water on the planet.

Where do people think the 'Mountain dew' and likewise come frome?? People filling up the little bottles at a tiny little mountain stream?? Nope, a tap on some industrial complex. You are paying twice: taxes (which include paying for good quality tapwater) and then something like 4 bucks a liter for some other counties bottled tapwater.....
Penn & Teller's Bullshit did a show on bottled water.

It's definitely a lot cheaper, but it's not free.
I installed a water filter to my kitchen spigot. Tastes just like bottled water. The filter looks scary after 2 months of use.
