Title: Mike Williams - European bodybuilder - passes away
Post by: abz on June 30, 2006, 11:37:12 PM: CHAMP IN GYM DEATH: A CHAMPION bodybuilder collapsed and died after a gym workout.

Policeman Mike Williams, 50, was found dead in the steam room at the Virgin Active gym in Thundersley, Essex.

Attempts to revive Mr Williams, from Hadleigh, Essex, failed. A post mortem was held yesterday. Mr Williams was the former World, British and European bodybuilding champion. His devastated sister Terri said: "He was such a positive person. He had time for everyone and he never said a bad word about anybody."

Mr Williams leaves a wife, Janet, two sons and two daughters.

Post by: jonno gb on July 02, 2006, 12:32:31 PM: Mike was a great champion and a real gentleman both on and off stage.He had time for everyone and was a great personal inspiration.He won more titles at British,European and World level than any other bodybuilder frequently beating assisted bodybuilders in non tested events as well winning many natural titles.I was part of the Great Britain team at the 2005 UIBBN Worlds which Mike captained and I consider it a priviledge to have known him.His words of encouragement meant a lot to me.RIP Mike.
