How did he get his pro card? His record shows a 10th at the World Championships as his last contest before turning Pro.
To all the PDI naysayers, how about an answer?

Gustavo got his pro card by winning the overall title at the IFBB Amateur Caribbean & Central American Championships about 1998/9 [?] It is open to 38 countries in the region, drug tested and as there is only one pro card available annually for the area it is fairly competitive. Also how Darrem went pro.

I'd be impressed, if not for the fact that a lot of those "countries" are tiny islands with total populations about one tenth the size of the city I live in. ::)
