Canseco reportedly spills more names
Mitchell investigators aren't likely to make former slugger part of team

Updated: 50 minutes ago
Jose Canseco has reportedly given more names of players who used steroids to the Mitchell investigators.

The former slugger who admitted to using steroids and wrote a book that mentioned names of players who used the illegal performance-enhancing drugs, met with a team of investigators on Tuesday. This probe is headed by former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell to investigate the use of steroids in baseball.

Canseco's attorney, Rob Saunooke, told the New York Daily News that his client passed on information that went beyond drug use by players. It was "from a player participation level, but also managers, trainers, administrators, or people who would have known or been appraised of what was going on."

Saunooke did not mention any of the names that Canseco passed on.

The attorney said that Canseco wants to participate in the investigation because he feels that he would have a better chance of getting other players to cooperate.

"Until someone like Jose is part of the investigation as an investigator, they aren't going to get much cooperation," Saunooke, told the the newspaper. "Jose could meet face to face with some of the individuals, use his own friendship with them and knowledge of them and talk with them comfortably. If Jose sits down face to face with you and reminds you of all the good times, then he says, 'It's time for us to come clean with these things.' "

Canseco is not likely to be invited to join the team of investigators.

"The only members of the investigative team are Senator Mitchell and the lawyers assisting him at DLA Piper, and no requests have been made that anyone else currently or formerly associated with baseball investigate on his behalf," Charles Scheeler, one of two lawyers who interviewed Canseco and Saunooke, told the Daily News.

Haha....I think "The Ricky" is still playing somewhere down in the minors...at least he was a couple of years ago...he was 48 then and still stealing bases and knocking clutch hits......GH really does work!!

One more name that should be on that list is that that freak Julio Franco.....dude's still starting and his numbers are as good as players half his age.....that's a freaking athlete!!

He is still an idiot.  We would be hearing a different tune if he was in the position Bonds is in. If he wouldn't have had problems, he would have been right there telling a different story just like everybody else. There have been so many guys involved with gear in MLB that him naming names is just about like picking out the guys he doesn't like. He isn't doing it for anyone's good, except his. Why wouldn't MLB want guys juicing up and performing well? The freakin' government should perform like a pro sport that produces something rather than running up debts before they step into someone else's arena. This dipshit causes a stir that the politicians love, what a joke.  I used to love the guy when I was younger and figured he used gear, but what a joke he is now.

What I don't get, is that Shawn Ray, Bob Chick, and many other pro bodybuilders who support steroid use, are sucking up to this guy. They  talk about his mission to bring tougher laws when they themselves are users!

Canseco is out for revenge.  He feels he was railroaded out of baseball, & he is doing his best to cause as much grief to as many people involved in baseball as he can.  If he makes accusations, then the committee can call those people to testify & force them to lie under oath, & then if they can catch them lying, they can beat their chests like King Kong that they're "saving" America's youth.  It's all about election campaigns, & getting media time, & distracting the public from the real issues these politicos can't do anything about.

I don't like SORE LOSERS and if you have done a wrong then let that wrong be on you...be a man accept your punishment and move on...don't go about claiming or telling on others even if they are doing the same thing...IT IS COWARDICE AND BITCHNESS

He never stole anything out of anybodys locker. The guy made in excess of 50 million dollars in his playing days. No he never proclaimed to be a bad ass. Its common knowledge in the major leagues not to f**k with Canseco. I suppose your another internet tough guy who would beat Jose down. ::)

Yeah beat him down and get into all the legal trouble along with him huh. No he made 50 million dollars, he used to be a outstanding ball player and people knew he took stuff he was the biggest muscled guy in pro sports, but torat people out, then make money off it he's lower than low.

That is true, but I doubt Jose would be standing on any street corners in Compton, East New York, Overtown (Miami), etc., bro. The fact remains that he is a big guy who from my understanding was pretty serious in his martial arts training. I saw footage of him in Muay Thai training. He could probably put a whupping on a lot of guys.

That dumb money hungry fuck is going to sink it for everyone. As if other professional athletes don't use drugs. Hockey players, football players and rugby players us it all the time to re-cooporate from their injuries. I personally do not see how it would benafit a baseball player. Its all about hand-eye co-ordination. Talking roids in baseball makes as much sence as a billiards player taking something. I personally see no benafit from steriods in the sport of baseball. Unless he's quicker if anything while rounding the bases or his fielding skills, maybe. I think steriods in baseball is absolutely ludacris. Talk about shooting blanks. You could get so much more out of the drugs.

I'm sure Jose seems like a bad-ass to your average MLB multi-millionaire. I don't think he would impress, say, an enforcer in the Russian mob.

And I hear they also take a dim view of snitches.
