For those who undrestand and can read french, this is a long thread, now 20 pages long on a french forum, planetemuscle.com, where Serge Nubret answers questions. Quite an intersting reading. Among otrher things he alludes to the homosexual tendencies of the infamous Weider brothers.

Fair enough. What do you think he is on now to maintain his fitness where he is, and what do you think of the warrior diet he supposedly followed, or is that untrue? Just curious is all.

He followed that diet. Another thing that he did was an hour of abs. You see, all this new pseudo-science tech supplement,meal timing,special training bullshit is just what it is, bullshit.
Steve Reeves ate 3 meals a day and looks as good or better than any top natural even today.
No idea why people make this so complicated. Just eat and train.

A guy who posts there who was talking to serge Nelson Montana who wrote 2 good books. The Bodybuilding Truth and Bottom Line Bodybuilding is talking about no cardio! Serge agrees 100% ! HAHA! In all your faces! Read it! Serge trained with short rests and as everyone knows trained hard... THAT my niiiiiiigas! IS cardio!

*sigh* can you read? running on the hampster wheel isn't the only type of cardio in the world. does your heart rate increase when you lift? does it increase when you squat?? does it increase when you train back? when you train anything? hell yea! just try one workout session with only 30 seconds of rest! That IS cardio! all this talk about health.... most people don't do ANY kind of exercise and they don't die because they have a "weak heart" they die because they eat like **** !

I agree. I don`t think cardio is neccessaryat all and choose not to do it. Serge would do an hour of abs.

the point is that people are brainwashed that cardio = hampster wheel. WHY? I think the fact that Serge didn't do it proves that but as far as health... that makes me laugh. OMG if I don't run on a treadmill and kill my knees and increase free radicals and WASTE my body I won't be healthy. RUN FORREST RUN! Why is it that ALL people who's only form of exercise is "cardio" look like crap? why take a little of something bad? if you can do something that's MORE EFFECTIVE and still raise your heart-rate the same way then you're doing very well. Adonis, what sort of "cardio" do you do?

I have found that I lose Bodyfat at the same rate and time wether I do cardio or not.
So I choose not to do cardio.

I`m not sure I buy into that. You need a calorie defecit to lose. Sure you can eat a bit more carbs,but the cardio will just burn through them anyway. So in fact he may be eating more carbs so he can do cardio.
In both cases Glycogen stores need to be somewhat depleted to start using the fat as fuel. Why make it harder by eating more so you can fuel your cardio even though you are trying to burn the calories that just took in for the whole day.
Seems a bit absurd.

I just lost approximatly 13 pounds this month really easily and without doing cardio or serious dieting.
I lowered my carb intake after 5 pm, I stop drinking juice ( I only drink juice all day long normally ) and that made it.
Now I am not in contest shape but I don'T want to be too. I was just getting a little too fat :)

Same here. Lowering carbs for a few days then carb up again, repeat that with intense workouts, no cardio.
This works best for me.

Just did the ab cardio and almost passed out near the end. But I kept going cause I'm a champ!

3. a few guys that have it figured out, good size and BF under 11%, and they do cardio
I am guessing that if your BF is under 11 you probably don't need to do cardio to keep the fat off. Just pop an ECA stack while lifting

Maybe ot achieve that I would need a little bit off cardio
or sotp cheating on my diet ;D
