Post by: Yev33 on July 24, 2006, 08:55:09 PM
Anyone know of any good joint and ligament supplements, are they a waste of money?

I use joint care by Beverly International. I've been training for 25 years, so my joints have taken a beating. I think it helps, but you have to take it daily.

I've been lifting for about three years and work a physical job, I inflamed the tendons in my left elbow over a week ago and I can't figure out whether it is from lifting or something awkward I did at work. I'm just looking for something that will help keep my joints healthy and pain free.

Hyluronic Acid(spelling?), MSM and Celedrin are worth trying as well.  We have had good feedback at my store on all of these.

I don't believe HA is there yet, but it has great potential and will be wonderful when science has perfected the absorption of it.  It works great when directly INJECTED to the joint, but not when taken orally.  MSM is shown to help a lot of people.  I've never heard of Celedrin.

1500 Glucosamine daily is what science has shown to be effective  & more is not better (just a waste)  I don't think there's been much if any done with a lesser quantity.

1200 is what is recommended with Chondroitin.  There's  some concern among some communities about there being a link between prostate cancer and chondroitin so....  :-\  I think they're studying it right now but have yet to arrive at a conclusion.
