A BBing show that takes place every four years like the Olympics & world cup.
Criteria for being eligible to compete in the show would be any winner of any show in the past four years.
-
Since and including 1984, there have only been 3 Olympias where the winner was not known prior to the show. >:(
-
then they would only compete once every 4 years!

Not necessarily. The Olympia will continue to be yearly but this show will be conducted once every 4 years
-
Hey, not a bad idea.. Only the best of the best. That would draw a bigger crowd than the O. Better put a copyright on this fast!
-
The Olympia was intended to be for the best of the best, but qualification standards are too low. Only the winners of the other shows throughout the year should be eligible.

And no automatic qualifying. If Coleman wants to enter this year's Olympia, he needs to win one other show this year.
So this year's Olympia would so far consist of
Dexter Jackson
Phil Heath
Ronny Rockel
Lee Priest
Gustavo Badell
Want to be inclusive? invite the winner of the NABBA Pro Universe, the WABBA Pro World, perhaps even the WNBF Pro World.

Yes I like this too. I think he shoudl have to qualify each year too. It is much easier to just compete once a year than it is to stay in shape and compete 2 or more times a years. Plus maybe he would represent Bodybuilding a little better not just one month a year when heis getting in shape for the Olympia

I've been saying this very same thing for a while.
Coleman should not get a free pass, just cause he won the year before. New season, means a new start for EVERYONE!

That's a very interesting list. And with 4 more shows before the Olympia, there would be a few more guys qualifying. The Olympia would be very unpredictable and competitive. If you can't win a pro show, you have no business standing on the Olympia stage.

add the three after the Olympia to next year, and you've got up to 12. of course the more you win, the fewer contestants you have to face at the Olympia.
But some might say only 12 contestants would make the show too short. Require all IFBB pro events to have a Masters class (and no cross-overs) and you've got enough for a Master's Olympia, too.

4 years is too long.. Make it every 2/3 years. This would make top pros like Ronnie, Jay to compete in smaller shows..
This will bring the popularity up

Most bodybuilders careers aren't 4 years long..

8-12 contestants would be perfect. The major complaint from last year's Olympia was that there were not enough comparisons. With fewer competitors, there would be no excuses for not comparing everyone. Also, the prize money would go a lot further spread among fewer contestants.
