I wonder, Serge, what your opinion of Arnold was. Although most of us, including myself, are fans of Arnold we know that he has a dark side. So don't hold back. Give us the real dirt. I figure if I was competing at that time I would have hated him. It's like he controlled everything.

Nubret is just being a crybaby in need of attention and trying to make a buck. Nubret was great and all, but Arnold had the best physique; it's not even debatable, even he knows it.

well my mate has a history of competing at Squash, and as a result has insane forarms. Forarm muscle is still muscle not 'bone'!!!??
I am also tall with no forearms like yourself, but I can admit a poor forarm work ethic cos who cares about em anyway!! lol

Would Serge have won in '75 if that story hadn't happened (if it even did), who knows? But I believe these are the pics of what he looked like a few weeks before the alleged incident and he DOES look monstrous for Serge (yet, his waist is as small as ever).

In this case Nubret is fooling himself. Arnold was bigger and had a better overall physqiue if you are comparing size, shape, and condition in various poses.
Nubret had a FANTASTIC physique but to say Arnold would not have beaten him is silly.

Read Arnold's encyclopedia of bodybuilding. He has many forearm and wrist exercises. Try a few on off days. Muscles that don't get hit during the normal 4 split are screaming. I just call it scrambled eggs day. Abbs, forearms and wrists, maby some extra calf raises, all the major groups were already fried from the previous week. That's when wrist curls, forearm raises, bell ringers and allot of obscure exercises for advanced lifters. But my point, when all else is equal the better forearms and wrists could be the deciding factor.

A few years back in MMI, Serge claimed that the Weiders spread a rumor about Serge appearing in a Gay porn film and they couldn't allow a gay man in their contest. I seem to remember something about Serge saying he ate candy and had an all out binge and then when the Weiders saw him again in not such good shape, they decided that Serge could compete after all.
I have no idea if it's legit or not, but I know that it seems far fetched! ::)

Neither sergio or serge nubret could touch 1974 arnold. Arnold was clearly the best on stage in 1975. Perhaps serge could have been better if something happened the last 12 days but I doubt it would have been enough to beat arnold. Those pics above from 74 are amazing!
I'm sure the Weiders pulled some shots but arnold was the best between 73 and 75 without a question.

In all fairness to arnold...those pics you see of him at the beach was right after open heart surgery and being hospitalized. Some idiot photographer took the pic and it was sensationalized. He was in great shape again a few months later. Even in the post hospital state near 60, you can see he has a big structure/wide shoulders, etc.
Serge had a fantastic physique and looked phenominal in his later years...something I hope we'll see continue with BBers from our era.

Actually it was after he had rotator cuff surgery that was done after T3. He hurt it during the fliming of T3. Either way, he still looks great. Funny thing is he always about 8 weeks away from making all of us look bad. ;D

I think, given that Arnold was down 20+ lbs in '75, Serge in that shape just might have beaten him.

it's hard to say if he could bring that same size and condition to the olympia, there are many shots weeks out from olympia's where bber's look fantastic but come contest day and they have lost it.

You're right Arnold showed up at 235 pounds in 1975. Still from height, size, and width Arnold had him beat. Still I say Serge could've become mr. Olympia in Arnold's absence.

Here is what Serge Nubret had to say about those pictures!
The first and the third one have been from the Mr Olympia 1975 with only a body weight of 90 kg and the second and fourth was in California at Gold's, with a body weight of 96 kg. When I arrived in South Africa I looked like that, but when Weider saw me i decided to disqualify me, you can see why!...Anyway 12 days later, after Weider's decision I had 6 kg less and less cut, because I stoped training.

well Arnold lost more than 12 pounds because of the film Stay hungry and still looked better than you.....You didn't have legs at all in proportion to your upper body,while Lou had a complete package...Serge should have been 3rd with those chicken legs of his!!!
