No, they've never been on PPV.  they generally have a company there videotaping the event. (btw, another area where the athletes have to sign a release giving away their video rights to any of the revenues generated by the dvd/video sales.)

Yes and whoever shoots it has to pay the IFBB/NPC for the rights.  So again they make money off the competitors without any profit sharing or residuals.  Even it is pennies.  The IFBB could easily require that whoever shoots and seel the DVDand tapes that a certain amount goes into a "pool" and then divided among the competitors on the DVD r tape.  But no way.

Repetrope is not exactly making a fortune on the VHS & DVD films they sell.  They're doing well enough to keep going.  They offer a free DVD or tape to anyone involved in the show, & a discount on other films if they want them.  They also have made the national reputations of many competitors.  It's not like the mags cover these shows anymore (the top NPC show, the Nationals, gets exactly two mag reports annually--in MD & FLEX).  Without Repetrope, no one would know anything about the contests other than a list of placings.
