Title: Arnold's bench press claims
Post by: Bast000 on July 28, 2006, 10:13:08 PM
People have argued about this.  He says 400+ for 8 but I see 385 in the picture (the left side is cut off that shows 3 plates and a 35).  Right Click on the pic and click View Image to see in correct scale.

I took a picture of the page in his Book with my digital camera.

you do realize that you're making a thread to argue over a 20 lb decrepancy, right?  do you really give a shit about this?  do you honestly expect anyone else to?

People have posted that his max was 400.   he wrote he did that 8 reps.   Not a 20lb discrepency (which you hacked the spelling of by the way).

if he did it 8 times, it wouldn't be his max, would it? and that's a 15 pound discrepancy.....

i would not doubt it, hes been lifting since he was 15, was juiced to the gills, had great genes for chest, monster thickness, extremely large full pec bellies, and despite what people say his tri's were not weak either...

I don't even see a spotter in that photo, just because his PR is not in a book doesn't mean he didn't have one.

How much can he press now though? He'd struggle with a single on an empty bar.
