Ergas won his class? After seeing the pre-judging pics, I don't think I would have him in the top 5. Not a blast, just an opinion!

I guess that's why everyone shaves their head. The 'old, balding principal look' is not cool. The guy's upper body looks pro, but his legs just look strained.
-
this USA is the biggest bullshit ever
Leo looked better even is his back could be wider and his abs and tigh sucks
Mike Ergas winning the light-heavies......... yeah right ::)

Lionel should have gotten a pro card instead of Mike Ergas
Lionel could do really well in the pros with a little more muscle
-
ergas looked like a pro from the front. the back, well...
-
Mike won't do shit in the pros......... mark my word
his physique is good for an amateur but that's it
doesn't have the best structure, needs more muscle, pose like a beginer, not good enough condition
-
how did DeShaun Grimez place?
-
Where did sean calder place?
-
neither will do shit in the pros they both suck
-
ergas sucked. total bullshit. lionel deserved it.
deckard sucks. the worst legs on a new pro since robert washington turned pro and did absolutely nothing many years ago. leo has the much better build with top to bottom symmetry. just needs more polish.
judging is more corrupt than ever.
ergas friendly with more than a few judges.
whoopee. two more shitty bodybuilders get their worthless pro cards. ask fred bigot what theyre worth.
special 'brutal' ed

wow... leo does crush omar on legs.
Second that. Just from these pics I'm liking Leo much better.
-
Omar needs more chest
-
Just got back from the show and have to say it was a tough one to call in person. I'm glad that I had to judge the bantams and lights instead of the heavies and supers.
As for Omar and Leo, I thought it could have gone either way and no one could have argued. Omar was better in the front double bi, front lat, rear lat and ab/thigh while Leo was way better in both side poses, a little better in the rear double and the most muscular could have gone either way. While I thought it would be a razor thin decision on the scorecards, it wasn't. Omar had 9 of 11 first place votes, Leo had 2 firsts and 9 seconds. But rest assured Ingram fans. He gets his pro card wherever he shows up next...NA or Nationals. No one else is even in the running against this guy.
In the heavies, it was much tighter. Ergas had a total score of 12 (6 firsts, 1 second, 2 thirds, 2 fourths), Lionel a total of 15 (only 1 first, 7 seconds, and 3 thirds) Adorthus Cherry a total of 16, one point behind Lionel (3 firsts, 3 seconds, 3 thirds and 2 fourths). Mike wasn't as good as Nationals, where I thought (along with many of you) that he was robbed. His legs, particularly from the side, were superior to the other two and I think that made the difference in the end. Lionel, Adorthus and Faramarz Aghazadeh (he was second last year to Phil Heath and beat Jonathan Rowe who went on to win the class at Nationals) should have some wars over the next year or two for pro cards.
-
wow seems like a really weak lineup...
that omar guy looks stupid with his hair...
-
Why did Rodney Davis do the show? Didn't he just get a pro-card in the 40+ Masters Nats last weekend?
JDawg
-
neither will do shit in the pros they both suck
I agree...I would not have been so blunt but I agree. Man, it's been awhile since we had a superheavy win a pro card and do well..I wish they would just get rid of that stupid class, it was so much better before they added it.
-

Why even bother with weight classes anyway. When they turn pro their aren't any...
-
I predict NOW that Steve Blechman will give either Omar or Ergas a collumn in MD Magazine now with some cheesy title like 'Mighty Mike Speaks' or 'Outrageous Omar' or some crap like that and it will only last about 6 issues then they will be dropped.
I also bet Omars soon to be bride...is NOT a woman of color...knowwutImsayin?
-
Omar has a very large frame, need's overall size everywhere to even be looked at,great conditioning for big guy.need's leg's bigtime.we'll see.
-
omar isn't going to do ANY damage in the pros.. He'll be a 4th tier pro at best.
-
It's amazing that people who post on this site know that competitors' careers will tank. What crystal ball are you using? Give these guys a chance!
-
man - Omar is prolly a stand-up gentleman, but how he beat Leo I'll never know. Leo was robbed
Ergas over Lionel Brown? You kidding me?? Very surprising. I didn't see it that way at all . . .

This is crazy leo should have won this.....he had size with shape....a true pro look...come on you really think omar will be competetive with likes of other pros.....he wont have a great rookie season like Phil heath or Richard Jones...I just dont see it. I hope Leo is able to do the Nationals I will be there and if he is i will be cheering him on.

hahah DeShaun grimes took fifteenth....looks like no trophy for the top of his minis fridge.
Ergas was going to be pro eventually, with all the name dropping ,,,he looks like garbage, so does that Omar guy..USA s were terrible!!

Why even bother with weight classes anyway. When they turn pro their aren't any...
I was just saying that the quality of both heavy weight and SHW has gone down since the intro of the SHW class, both are watered down thus the over all product is not as strong. Anyone remember the 93 USA and all the hype surrounding the HW class that year? It was awsome, Cormier, Demayo, Gregg Ried, Edgar Fletcher, Fancios, newman, titus..we'll never see that again.

who's "Fancois"?
I can never remember how to spell his last name, you know the Mike F. that won the arnold in 95...sorry, I was too lazy to look it up.

Yeah, it really seems like pro cards are being "issued" based upon years of showing up in shape and deserving one, while the generations ahead of you are rewarded for their cumulative efforts.
Not a good way to sustain the IFBB pro ranks, if the best physiques are toiling away in obscurity for the best years of their careers. Imagine the grief a Euro guy would have, showing up in the NPC at 27, best shape of their life, and realizing they have to work for 3 years to get a pro card, no matter how good they look. Really does explain why so many Euro guys are going PDI.
-
i like Omars physique................ ....deserving winner IMO

I just noticed this post and had to reply.
You would have a very hard time making your case. You have the best amateurs in the country showing up at these shows 35-40 per class.... Many just dreaming of a top 5 finish. You have a guy (Zona) who you say has been in the top 5 for 6 or 7 years and you say he "fucking sucks"?! Are you kidding me?! LOL! Perhaps you dont like his physique but thats pretty harsh! Sound a little bitter there Dzul. He has been in the top 5 as both a LH and a Heavy which is no easy task. I thought he was overlooked this year at Nats....probably the hardest in the class. There is a couple words that can go after "fucking" to describe him, like "good" or "consistent". But "sucks" definitely isn't one of them.

Your telling me the second best guy might get his pro card next, when the guy who wins and moves on won't be competing against him?LOLOL....
Please...tell us more about "how it works".
Betweeen you and 240...I'm not sure who knows LESS about what goes on.
Lets hear who the both of you THINKS should have won, placed in the top 5....

Just kidding!!!

Personally, I was rooting for Jerome. Saw him on the Fitshow and War for the Worlds. he has a great V-taper and was really in great condition especially from the front. The only thing you could call him on was back detail, not width and maybe hamstring/glutes. Hey....that sounds like Jay Cutler vs. Ronnie! Hope Jerome gets it at the Nationals or next year.

Way to dodge the question, as usual....
What "scoop" was that? That he has yet to compete? That he stated himself that he had no intention of making a "comeback"? That he may very well NOT be alowed to compete? Which scoop are you referring to?
-

I announced that Don Long was competing at the Atlantic City pro. You insulted me, said it was idiotic, etc etc. Then, Flexonline announced it, and you disappeared for about 4 days as the world laughed at you.
You returned a few days later, claiming you were right all along, but everyone here saw that you did nothing but put your foot in your mouth. Even those who hate me here, agreed that you did kinda speak without doing your research.
Now it seems you're back to rewrite history. You really do care what people on the message boards think, huh?

Way to dodge the SECOND round of questions...
Is Don competing in the AC Pro? That's news to me....
I stated that what the athlete want's and what reality dictates, may be two different things...nothing has changed that statement.
All the power to Don if the criteria the IFBB requested can be met.
-
another white beaaach
what do you mean? They did the same thing with Chris Cook and alot of other guys...they'll whore themselves out to whoever is the new "it" guy.
-

I remember when you wrote...
240 started a thread, and you all jumped to your own conclusions....as usual.
Don's Kidney transplant didn't take as of 2 years ago due to rejection...he's been back on dialysis since.
NO, he isn't planing a comeback...
Should give light to ANYTHING 240 writes...
We all know the IFBB requires his Doc to assume FULL LIABILITY, which has never happened in the history of medicine. So the fix is in, but hey...
-
I remember when you wrote...

What part of this didn't you understand? Don himself said he isn't planning a comeback.
The IFBB will protect themselves as any company would in these unusual circumstances...not to tough to figure that one out.
Letting someone compete with knowledge of a pre-existing condition would make any company/ federation a little cautious...I'm sure the D'Arezzo family wishes Tony weren't allowed to compete...and the Youngblood family as well.
-
How about that USA.. Good show..
-
The IFBB will protect themselves as any company would in these unusual circumstances...not to tough to figure that one out.

Don has said he will sign any waiver, freeing the IFBB from legal responsibility, as will his family.
The IFBB wants more than that - they want such an unreasonable assurance that is impossible for Don (OR ANY ATHLETE) to obtain. A letter from his doctor, assuming FULL LIABILITY for Don competing. I tell you, I don't know one doctor in the world that would ever sign a form assuming liability for a healthy guy to stay home and watch TV all day. Liability is something a doctor cannot assume, ever. It's an idiotic request, designed to cripple his comeback and wash their hands of any blame.
No other athlete is required to get a doctor to assume full liability before something as dangerous and unpredictable as a BBing show. Just Don. Almost sounds like they're denying him equal treatment. He is assuming all liability - clearing them. They want the impossible.
The fact you're not upset means you're in on it, Bob.
-

No other athlete requesting to compete is on dialysis, has been since 1999.
As I stated earlier...Anthony D'Arezzo was also found out (after the fact) that he had a pre-exsisting heart condition, think his family and loved one's wish he was prevented from competing?

Omar "Big Gunns In Da Hood" Deckard..........looks good there.

I'm telling ya...check it out! Maybe Ronnie boy likes the coal-sausage like Hany does...
Yeah, the gayness was strong within that article............
It's funny because Ron Harris stopped by here and said he never used the "Ebony Muscle Mountain" line. That those were Hany's words as told to him (Harris). ::)

All "gayness" can be directed towards Ron. :)
Hany Rambod

Let it be on Hany and the comment. That wasn't put by him in that article. Get real!

Hey Ron...why did you delete my last post replying to Hany? That was some BIG-BROTHER stuff right there...can I repost it? Did he cry to you or something? Did I hurt his feelings?

Hany,
how much do you have your athletes spend on gear per show?
-
I beleive 240 is reffering to the same "scoop" posted on flexonline's website
http://www.flexonline.com/news/136
which you seem to doubt is correct, maybe to allow you to remove your shoe from your mouth, when in reality you are only pushing down further.
I hate to tell you this Chick but,
you were wrong, 240 was right
chick, btw - i love your "he has yet to compete, the PDI show has yet to happen" pattern of thinking.
if we apply that same 'logic', then i guess we shouldn't be talking about the olympia or any other show since
they are "yet to happen".
monster logic
