They must be 25kg plates as they are not 25 pounds.

Which means what.. about 290 kgs.  (10 25s, 2 10kg and 20kg bar)

Doesn`t make me rethink anything...Look how short his forearms are.  Of course people with short ass forearms do a lot of weight.

Maybe you know more than me about this but I can clearly see a big 25 (KGS) on them.

And it doesn't look like he's wearing a bench shirt so I don't think he's benching 1000 pounds.

Isn't that a roughly 6-- pound raw attempt?

How can someone called HUGEPECS not know that nobody is raw benching over a 1000 pounds?

And its between 290 and 300 kgs depending on fastening devices (640-660 pounds).

It IS the reason.

When the forearm joint is placed closer to the wrist, it creates a fulcrum more capable for supporting a weight.  In actuallity less work(physics) is performed since distance travelled is shortened than someone with a different placed joint.(longer forearm)

I once saw a 60 year old man Behind the Neck press 275 for 10 easy.  His arms were incredibly short due to the joint placement.

Aye, you were saying it was 100 pounds plates but evidently I don't know what the fok I'm talking about with shirts as I've only seen blimps trying 1000 pounds with ridiculous shirts :)

The weights are from finland and say 25 on.  In the cultured lands of europe they use kgs ;)

That would make the lift over 1080 pounds, alarm bells should have been ringing in your head at that stage :)

I agree. I've never seen 55pounders before. But I've seen a lot of 100lbs plates, and these kind of look like them. but, Logically speaking, aint nobody gonna press half a ton looking like he's looking. so I must admit he's pressing around 650+

Thats 640 pounds. A lot bodybuilders can bench more than that if they had a suit on.

those plates go by color.  The red ones are always 25 kilos, green 10 kilos. blue 20 kilos and yellow are 15.

It IS the reason.

When the forearm joint is placed closer to the wrist,

When you say "forearm joint" which joint are you refering to? Your elbow?

it creates a fulcrum more capable for supporting a weight.

There is actually two different axes of rotation (fulcrums) here your elbow and your shoulder.  In this case the force of the weight is acting, roughly speaking, directly in line with your elbow so forearm length has no real impact in this regard. This would come in to play if you were trying to curl the weight, not bench press it.  It's actually your upper arm length which matters here.

In actuallity less work(physics) is performed since distance travelled is shortened than someone with a different placed joint.(longer forearm)

This part is partially correct.  Someone with shorter arms will perform less work than a long armed person when bench pressing because the weight travels less distance but the joint placement part is off base.  Two people with the same length of arms using the same width grip will have the same range of motion, no matter where the hell their elbow is.  This is just common sense.

Based on this post anyone with any background in physics or biomechanics would be able to tell that TA is talking out of his ass.  Saying anything with great conviction will convince most people, even if it is a crock of shit.

Actually you are completely wrong on a lot of your points. The shoulder will not act as a fulcrum very much when the forearm is shorter.

The weight is also never directly in line with the "fulcrum", especially with a powerlifter`s rep.

The length of FOREARM has EVERYTHING to do with the easiness of a bench press...Not only for distance reasons, but for stabilization of the bar and movement.  The movment is able to be performed more locked into place with less sway and movement.

I will add more to this later as it is my bed time.

You are an idiot Iago...hahahahah
