Major Alaskan oil field shutting down. Losing close to 8 percent of U.S. oil production as of May 2006 or about 2.6 percent of U.S. supply including imports... Based on KNOWING THESE FUCKERS ALL TO WELL,... Should equal an immediate 25% hike at the pumps ;D

It'll effect our prices even though 95% is shipped to Japan. I filled my truck up this morning after hearing about this. I wouldn't doubt if it jumps around 10 to 15 cents overnight.

i've heard through the grapevine that 240's efforts to educate the public are responsible for BP's sudden corrosion problems.

USA has an enormous car industry.
And very well developed farming.
So why the fcuk aren't the government forcing these bastards to produce:
1. Smaller cars with engines who don't demand big ass amounts of fuel,
and
2. Ethanol
USA could do both.
I don't think there is any other country in the world that has the potential to do both, perhaps France (Renault and big farming) but USA has a more modern culturalisation of the land in general.

I doubt this guy will care:
The outrageously monstrous Ford F-650 SuperCrewzer, owned by Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, has a 107-gallon gas tank.
Let's say Haynesworth is running on empty and he pulls into a Nashville gas station to fill 'er up, at $2.999 per gallon. The truck runs on diesel fuel.
It would cost Haynesworth $320.89 to fill the tank.
Something tells me fellow Volunteer-stater Al "An Inconvenient Truth'' Gore would have a little problem with Haynesworth's mode of transportation. Gore, I'm guessing, would puke at the monster trucks and supersized vehicles in NFL parking lots.

Uh... yea.... I don't think he cares either. A lot of people don't and never will. Just the facts. :-\

You gotta give these guys a break {LOL} My neighbour used to play for the Seattle SeaHawks & the Chicago Bears, ...and there is just no way on earth he would fit into a compact vehicle. {lol} It's just not happenening! The guy can barely fit through a doorway. I could never picture him in anything less than a monster huge SUV. Why should we be the only ones with leg room & head room? I say let the NFL'ers have their monster trucks.

Several guys I know weigh 300 and above.
Never seen the drive a really small car, like a SMART, but I've never seen them having any problems with driving regular cars either.
In short, in this case, you don't have a clue of what you're talking about.

Well it is now the 14th and gas here in florida for regular is about 2.89 a gallon .
It was about 2.80 about 2 weeks ago. It went up a little but not much.
Luckily I bought a Hyundai this week, and gas should not be a problem anymore since I am going from a straight 6 300z engine to a little 4 cyclinder getting 30+ miles per gallon!

I'm shocked to ??? I think maybe with so many people already pissed to the max and right after all the publicity of record profits for the oil companies, not to mention a very important election coming up, they held back from their usual, hike the fuck out of prices at the slightest scare. I can see no other reasons why they didn't jump the prices. They have never failed in the past to raise them the next day on word of something off.

:'(
I miss those prices ... it's >thisclose< to $5 a gallon here .. going up $2 in almost 5 years doesn't seem like a huge jump .. but it feels like a huge increase in my expenses
