If he was still in good health that is. IMO, his upperbody was insane, one of the widest ever with a small waist. Lacking in the arm department, but I'd say he would give Ron a run for his money on back width/thickness... Maybe not AS thick as Ron, but def. as wide if not wider.
-
answer is NO
but does anyone have any update on the guy??
-
Well im not too knowledgeable of his career, but was his skin thickening due to GH or another substance? Or genetic? Also, do you know what even happened to him after his competition days? I read he went into a coma but not sure what hes doing these days?
-
no.
-
no...................... ................

Roc Shabazz told me at Jr USAs he was in a nursing home...he didnt fully recover from his surgical accident...brain damage i believe
-
what exactly was the cause of his coma
-
Orville was one of the weakest pros I've ever seen. In BFTO 2000, he literally struggles big time with 80lbs shoulder press :-X :-\

Well, I don't believe he would've given Ronnie a 'run for his money', but I will go with you that Orville's back is wider than Ronnie's - that's it.
Which in a way doesn't mean crap.
-
I think the Anesthesiologist gave him too much of a drug to put him under and he lapsed into a coma. I think. That's just what I read on here though.
yes this is true..he had an enlarged heart...he was doing a photoshoot and hurt his elbow and had to get surgery but THEY fcked up

No

Wow, is he seriously in a nursing home? Anyone have actual info on him?
-
No, could never beat Ronnie, but definitely could have been a consistent top 10 Olympia.

No he isn't in a nursing home. He is living at his own residence with his wife & is doing fine considering what happened to him. He doesn't train anymore though.

I'm also interested. The magazines completely ignored Orville after he had his accident.
Perhaps he has a less flattering story to share.
Could be.
His story would definitely be one of the most interesting reads for a mag like FLEX.
Sadly, that mag has not had one fcuking investigative article or interview in years. Asking the questions that the fan base are wondering about.
I remember the interview they did with Shawn Ray, back when he was competing, had some elements of critical questions, touching on his tough relations with judges, his views on Synthol, and stuff like that.
Wasn't a great interview, but still awesome compared to what is in the mag today.

Big surprise.... ::)
-
Is there not any pros on this board who have gone to visit or called to see how he is? You would think there would be at least one pro who considered him at the least an aquantance, enough to see how he is.
-
so did orville or a family member sue the hell out of those docs that f*cked him up?? i can understand if the patient has a blood clot or something then its not the docs fault..... but for the anesthesiologist to overdose on him its their f**k up and he deserves alot of money.
-
I thought due to his enlarged heart they had an independent cardiologist working with the anateseologist(sp) and the mix of drugs caused the coma for about 6 weeks...
I met him one time when i won teen states, he was the nicest guy, I will get my scanner and post pics of him then, he was jamacian I think, about 280 and guest-posed--looked great about 16 weeks from Olympia I think--it was in 2002

The guy impressed the heck out of me when I saw him at the '01 Olympia. So wide that even from my nose-bleed seats I could see he was the only one approaching Ronnie in the upper-body width department.
