Was in Modesto this afternoon... Mike is working for a bailbond agency as a "bailhunter". I think he's doing ok. Glad for him he recuperated well from the operation. Don't know what shape he is tought, didn't see him personally.

Actually, he really hated the drugs (but did them cause he had to). He is actually one of the few pros that could have done that "anonymous" Ironman interview in like 2000...

seriously, even at his own wedding he didnt have sleeves on...but cardillo workout gloves and those leather what-the-fukcs around his arms...dont forget the damn oakleys that never come off

Mike got way too big off season. He was over 300 at times. For a guy with a family history of heart probs, not the greatest career choice.

not really. he was only over 300 very few times. read it many times. he didnt like it.
he would have been better if he went up to 300 and dieted back down to about 260 or so.
also, he looked amazing in the 98 NOC. standing next to levrone and coleman, his was wider, with better arms, calves. it his back was better, he could have won.

I met Mike a few times at some shows in the late 90's and he was one of the most friendly and approachable pros I ever met.

:D Well, for a guy like him who struggled with his weight (and dieting), GH would certainly been something to love... (except he is now poor because of it's cost).

mike had a interview with flex after he had the surgery. he himself said that it got to a pointwhen he was competing that he would take anything and everything in large amounts to gain muscle. he also said he ate tons of red meat every day.

Wow really---back in the 80s when he lived here on the east coast, rumors flew around that he would eat up to 8 syntex anadrols a day for months on end...Maybe just BS but i don't doubt it...

It won't be the first time and it certainly won't be the last time. Any pro BBDR that claims to take "very little" is blowing smoke up your ass. Its just sad to see people get really sick and in some cases die before their time.

I miss MaddMazz! He used to guest pose here in Chicago at various local shows...always a fun time and easy to talk to...very open and honest about the side of BB FLEX or M/F doesnt talk about.
He used to go into this little 24hr family type Greek diner joint called 'Sallys' after a guest posing in a show that was held in the winter...he'd go there with a little tank top and shorts on...freak everybody out. He'd get up and hit shots for everyone and 'guest pose' in the resturaunt...everyone even all the guests/patrons would be good sports aboutit...just laugh and clap. Noone ever took offense.
Mazz had that kind of charisma...lots of pros today dont have. Jay is as charasmatic as paint drying.
