I had a look at Milos's site and I am very impressed with his gym. He and Milomar have a great club there and it looks like a friendly place with lots of equipment and space. In some ways it is set up better than Gold's Venice and he is getting lots of the top guys training there and doing photo shoots, etc. It was my dream to have a gym in LA but I am stuck down here in Sydney. So congratulations to Milos and Milomar for creating a really great bodybuilding gym. He caters to the general public, too, so that shows he is a good business man.
His forums are interesting, too, and I especially enjoyed seeing all the photos of his gym and some of the champions who train there.

I was driving back from OC a few months back, slowly, and thought I'd wait for traffic to clear up while working out. Found the gym, but it was closed for a few days due to some kind of maintenance.
-
Trained there as A guest of Milos. Have trained at better equipped gyms, but not often. The atmosphere there was great, and bloody HOT! thank god for that kickarse fan! would def travel the 40 mins to train there again. look forward to training at Vinces gym in a few months.
-
Those gyms in converted factory spaces do not have air conditioning and might be a bit cold in winter, too. We have air conditioning at V&R and so it is very comfortable in the long summers in Sydney.
Milos has a good gym for working out and I can tell he likes fitting in as much equipment as possible for the members. Golds Venice is bigger and has more equipment but the layout isn't as convenient for training and you seldom get any personal contact with others unless you know some people there.
Go and look at the hundreds of photos of his gym and some of the champs who train there. I had to smile at Milos's office because it reminded me of what I recall Joe Weider's office looked like. Very impressive and lots of sculpture around.

When i train there my intensity immediately goes to another level!!! Its one of those place that when you arrive, you just want to stay and train all day!!! I LOVE IT!!! i will be back there in 5 weeks time!

I feel you, Vince. It's not a dream of mine to have a gym in LA but to live there none the less. But I'm stuck here in Orlando - for now. ;D

Anyone who knows me knows that I seldom praise another gym. I usually consider my gym being better than most I have visited. I wondered what kind of gym Milos had so I finally logged onto his site and found photos of his gym. There were heaps of clear photos there and they revealed a very good gym and one that I appreciate. Since I also build equipment I was interested in what kind of equipment he had. We recently saw a photo of yellow equipment in the Koloseum Gym and I can tell you that is only part of the large floor of equipment. From what I saw it seemed to me that Milos has selected equipment according to function and excellence and that is always good to see. Even Golds Venice installs equipment that I wouldn't have in my gym. Not many gym owners are as concerned about equipment as I am so it was interesting to know that Milos and I have similar ideas about what a good gym is. I do the usual thing of counting treadmills and I can tell you he has more than I have in my gym. Those treadmills and other computerized machines cost double in Australia to what you pay in America.
I also liked to see Milos as a family man and how he respects and loves his wife. That is nice to see. I am not sure people realize this but Milos and I had a disagreement about training arms a couple of years ago and I backed off after he told me he wasn't interested in what I had to say. I think he might respect my opinion more now. I know how easy it is to wonder about comments made online. Those with vast experience do find it rather tedious to listen to the advice and opinions of others. I have found that I can always learn things from others and even beginners. No one has complete knowledge about training or even gym equipment. It is always refreshing to find someone else who is intelligent in the sport and I can see Milos is a bit like Arnold in that he came to America from a foreign land and is making his dreams come true.

Another great gym not too far from there is Club MetRx in Costa Mesa 8)!!

I've trained at you're gym quite a few times, great equipment and great atmosphere. I trained there regularly when it was Powerhouse in the early 90's!

Joe's office is ULTIMATE office....
I don't know if I would rather go to his office just to see him and talk to him...or look at all those statues, pictures, first class furniture...

Vince, I just post it about "our disagreement" on my board...and I did say exactly that if I had known you better we would have probably still be discussing the same issue...
But, my recollection of the whole disagreement was that I insisted only ONE THING - that hyperplasia is NOT possible in humans.../as I can call upon every textbook of physiology.../
Now as you reminded me - I would be interested to see the whole ARM PROGRAM that you suggested...
Everyone knows - I can use some tips in that department ::)

took the 5 to the 57 to Orangethorpe (then back on the 91 to the 5), industrial park, tiny parking lot in front, said Gold's Gym on the building. Don't remember the exact date, but I was commuting from Hollywood to Irvine 3 days a week from Sept to Nov of last year.

Your Lats connect just like Franco Columbu's lat did with low muscle insertions to the waist. This is a good thing as Franco had great back development.

One of these days, when I make my way to Cali, I'll have to stop by and train at Milos' gym. It looks like it's a great gym!

The trouble with bodybuilding is that there are no professional journals about this topic. The magazines are not what I consider professional journals. There are no journals for gym equipment, either. So I picked a sport and profession that do not have much in the way of literature for everyone. If you go to exercise physiology journals you will find heaps of research about muscles. There is not much there on hypertrophy because the exercise scientists are not interested in this subject very much. For example, I know of no studies examining maximum human hypertrophy. Whether humans can achieve hyperplasia has not been determined but I believe there was some evidence suggesting it might be possible. The trouble here is that guys with huge muscles have not been examined. If any of the top guys had willed their bodies to science we might be able to answer this question. We have had a few big guys die unexpectedly and their bodies would have been valuable for science.
Can Milos get his arms to grow bigger? That is difficult to say. If Milos is an intelligent bodybuilder we would expect that he has already exhausted all the possible protocols, strategies and exercises. I can understand that he is sceptical that others know what he has been unable to discover. Let me state that Milos has large arms but they could be larger and would have helped him win more contests. I saw a photo recently of his calves and they were huge. It suggested that his capacity for hypertrophy is excellent. What I have noticed is that some guys with huge shoulders have trouble getting their arms bigger. I think Luke is another person like this. Perhaps when they train arms they end up using their deltoids and have trouble actually targetting their biceps and triceps. Contrast Lee Priest to these guys and you see someone with huge arms and shoulders not as big in proportion. Heck, Lee's forearms are huge and he doesn't train them directly.
So is there a strategy that will lead to more arm growth in Milos? I really cannot say. It must be possible. I doubt he has tried everything and from looking at his gym I can say he doesn't have some crucial arm machines. Triceps, especially, need special isolating machines to get bigger. What happens is that as heavier weights are used in pressdowns, for example, the tendency is to recruit other muscles to handle those heavy weights. When you use other muscles to help you shift those heavy weights you do not end up with the target muscle growing. I have offered to try to help Luke Wood with his arms but so far he has not taken me up on my offer. I don't see any improvement on Luke's arms from the images many months ago. So Luke and Milos have the same problem with arm size. I may be able to help them and I may not be able to. We will never know if we don't meet and discuss the possibilities.

It's been my observation that there are people with dominant torsos and people with dominant limbs, very rarely do you see BBers that have both.
