Title: First Car...
Post by: YoMamaBeenLurking on August 28, 2006, 12:31:34 PM
Mine was a blue 1970 Cadillac Coupe DeVille.  I was 16 and my dad told me that as long as I got up at 6Am to take him to the train station in the morning every day before school then the car was mine.

I had soo much fun in that car I can't tell you.  472 motor, the beast was actually pretty damn fast.  And when the exhaust came off blasting my way through 2 feet of water in a puddle that covered half the high school parking lot, I just kept it that way, nice and loud LOL.  The back seat was massive and led to many good times while parked with girlfriends ;)

In the end I drove it into the ground and one day the car just decided that it was done.  After that I took over my mom's Pontiac Grand Prix.  Hot rodded it a bit and beat that one to death too  ;D

1972 Toyota Corolla. Here's the deal behind it though. Because the school bus was dangerous for me and my younger brother (if you want to know I'll elaborate) my parents got us the car. This was in 1980. Since the car was originally purchased and used in Saipan (100% humidity) there were rust spots all over the car. My brother and I wanted to clean up how it looked so we bought some bondo and primer to cover up andy "bad" spots. Since we didn't make any real money back then ($1.40 and hour) I bought about 30 cans of CANDY APPLE RED spray paint and painted the car by hand! LOL, it still cracks me up to this day. Anyway about 10 months into owning the vehicle, one day I stepped into the car and the driver side floorboard had rusted through. My feet were outside of the bottom like Fred Flintstone! I just cut a board to the size of the floor and covered it! Man that was some of the funniest shit I had to go through!

1974-76 pinto and this was in 1986, yellow with fake wood panels and nothing worked. When I got it the engin was blown, so rebuilt the motor and made her run again. My radio was a boom box in the passangers seat. Piss yellow and primer from where I thought to fix the body. It was so ugly I know for a fact I lost 1 girl I was dating since every time I had picked her up before I was in my buddies toyota truck and the 1 time I picked her up in that she stopped taking my calls..fucking loser...

I love these car threads.  My very first car when I was 16 (1974) was a 1959 MGA just like below.  My next two cars were 66 Mustangs.

Mattell's hometown was Hawthorne, CA.  Where I grew as a little kid.  On weekends me and my friends would go look in the trash cans at Mattells.  I remember when we found the Hot Wheels before they weree even on the market. We found pieces of the cars.  I remember the first bottom piece I found had Dereo (something like that)  When they finally came out I had everything they made.  There was a testing building and they used the kids in the neighborhood to test all the toys they made.  I test out some cars and other stuff but nothing big like Hot Wheels or Barbie shit or whatever.  It was neat though

My first car was a 84 T-bird, 2 door coupe with the 5.0L.  That car lasted 3 months before I blew the motor.  Then I got an 89 Mazda B2200 that lasted about 5 years.

i had a piece of shit 91 rs camaro with a v6 2 months later i put a 468 bigblock v8,turbo 400 trans , a 12 point roll cage, and took out all the interior sanded the paint off and painted it primer black.the car would run low 10 second 1/4 mile on street tires but i could only use 110 octane gas or higher and thats over $4 a gallon and it only got 5 miles to a gallon, could not drive it in the rain and no way would it pass the inspection test so my dad eventually made me sell it.

When we were little kiddies we used to ride our bikes to the Tonka factory and we would find all sorts of neat things there as well. We'd get great stickers to decorate our bikes with. We had real pimped out rides back then. Stickers on the banana seats, streamers from the handlebars, baskets in front, ...and hockey cards in the spokes. Sweet rides.  :P
