Despite a rocky start to his Canadian Football League career, Dolphins running back Ricky Williams said he's open to returning to the Toronto Argonuats when his NFL playing days are done. "I was thinking it wouldn't be bad to come back up here and kind of follow the same steps as (Argonauts coach Michael "Pinball" Clemons), play here a couple years and maybe get a chance to coach up here," Williams told The National Post on Wednesday. "Because I really like Toronto, I really like this organization. You can live here, you know? You feel like you have a life.
Williams broke his left arm July 22 during a game against Saskatchewan, then two weeks later, he needed more than a dozen stitches to close a gash on one of his feet after a metal door closed on his shoeless foot. In order to prevent infection in the wound, which was near the Achilles' tendon, Williams spent several hours inside a hyperbaric chamber.
Williams is no longer wearing a cast or walking with a limp. He is expected to return to the Argos around Sept. 23.
Williams has two years remaining on his contract with the Dolphins. Argonauts President Keith Pelley said he would like to see Williams return at some point.
"Ricky is special," Pelley said. "He's a fantastic person with great morals and values. Loves Toronto, loves the Canadian Football League, loves the coach. After his NFL career is over, we would of course entertain (the idea) of him coming back."
"You realize there's good football in places other than the NFL," said Williams. "The guys here, they don't get as much recognition but they're just as good football players. They make things exciting when they touch the ball and it's a joy to watch."
Something he'll be doing a lot of in the coming months.

That about sums it up.
-
He can return to the CFL now because his NFL career is already over.
-
The lesson here, kids, is that the CFL is where you go when your career in the NFL is over.

Theisman, Ferragamo, Terry Metcalf, Mack Herron, Vernon Perry & Mervin Fernandez, for any number of reasons.
-
Theisman, Ferragamo & Terry Metcalf as well.
I try not to think about Theisman since he was a redskin and they can all die, but forgot about vince with the rams for a couple of years was pretty good, 1979 super bowl QB if memory serves. For Many years in the late 60's and 70 and into the 80's the stupid old school owners thought you needed a white QB so allot of good college QB's had to go up north to keep playing.

This is what I've tried to explain to those on getbig with facile understandings of football-the NFL for the most part is as conventional in their thinking as they are, and wouldn't allow guys to play who didn't fit the requisite combine profiles.
Those preconceptions involved variables like height, race and the ability to scramble: Flutie, Marcus Allen's brother Damon and Tracy Ham were examples. The NFL thinking has only really changed in the last 10 years as the league continued to alter the rules to encourage passing.

thats very true, if you do not fit the mold of what somebody has written for the position you do not get a chance in the NFL. It almost takes a accident for people to change there preceptions of what can be done. You see somebody get thrown into the action because of a injury and they do well and everybody goes well I guess you do not have to be 6-5 240 to play QB...bunch of sheep really.
Side note do you have any idea what happened to Major Applewhite the QB that used to play for TX then went undrafted and think plays up north?

What's even funnier is that this w8tlftr's Asian yet apparently is oblivious to the racism that was/is practiced by the NFL.

So being Asian should give him some unique perspective on racism in the NFL?

Thank yew. Just to clarify, I've never said or thought the overall talent in the CFL's comparable nor do i particularly like watching the CFL, on the other hand for a number of reasons there are some CFL players who can fit right in so it's not black & white..the NFL single-game playoff record for interceptions has been held for the last 25 years by a guy who initially played for Marv Levy's Alouettes teams in Montreal, before Marv went to the Chiefs. ;D

{LOL} That was from an old Andrew Dice Clay joke about Asian drivers and how they could be blindfolded by dental floss. The first time I heard him rant about that I nearly hit the floor laughing. Then I seethed with anger that he'd actually gotten a laugh out of me from a joke like that. :-[ About 2 yrs later while working with him on a film set, I ended up giving him a piece of my mind!

When I was in 8th grade, we had this regular supply teacher who used to play for the Ottawa Roughriders.
We used to drive that guy craaazy! I don't know what it is about supply teachers, but it was a license to go wild.
The boys were scared of him, 'cause he was built like a mountain and intimidated the heck outta him, ...but we girls got away with murder. He was scared to yell at us or get physical with us like he did with the boys, so he was constantly frustrated at every turn. It was hilarious. The poor guy was like silly putty in our hands. ;D

You do realize that we talk shit about the CFL just to spin you up, right?
The CFL has produced some very good players but you seem to take it so personally when anyone challenges you on anything. It's quite funny when you think about it.

La la la la la la... Judi did it with the Dice Man... ;D

1st suprise you gave him a piece of your mind your such a shy retiring young lady...:)
2nd (ok sorry 1st) Did you only give him a piece of you mind and not just a nibble of your piece???

Ewwwwwwwww. You're making me want to vomit. :-X

Actually it was really easy. The man can on occassion behave like somewhat of a pig.
He was so lost in his 'Dice Clay' persona he wouldn't let Andrew the mensch out. Telling him off was easy!
2nd (ok sorry 1st) Did you only give him a piece of you mind and not just a nibble of your piece???
No nibble of my piece. He asked me to marry him, ...and I sneered cattily and demanded he "sign a pre-nup before I'd even consider it." (It embarrassed him sufficiently enough to make him shut-up).
If it had happened 4 days later, after I'd had a chance to observe him a little more, I would have realized it was just his nervousness & insecurity talking, and I probably wouldn't have been so rude or abrupt with him, ...but at the time he just made my skin crawl. :-\
-
so after that you hit it didn't you? come on you know you wanted too
-

Do you now realize you weren't alone? I challenged only the notion that there weren't some good players. I don't watch it much. The NFL itself has been diluted and compromised by rule changes; they have to do something about those arbitrary interference calls that are too much of a factor in some games.
-
so after that you hit it didn't you? come on you know you wanted too
I did come close to hitting him (...as in slapping his face) but later just kind of felt sorry for him.
He just struck me as very, very insecure. horribly insecure, ...and it made him behave like a jerk.

your wit makes oscar wilde's pale in comparison.

He wasn't serious, ...he was just trying to give me a compliment,
...but it just came out sleezy and demeaning and made my skin crawl.
