Title: Retired Posing Music
Post by: swilkins1984 on August 30, 2006, 09:06:03 AM
What songs do you think that are often posed to that need to be retired from the bb stage. Also any you suggest should  be posed to more often.  I'll start....Chariots of Fire and Terminator stuff need to be retired ASAP.

My suggestion is that every year there's a theme they need to follow, for example 2007 everyone need to pose to reggae.

All of these songs should be retired off the Mr. Olympia stage:

"SuperModel" - RuPaul

"Karma Chameleon" - Culture Club

"I am what I am" - Shirley Bassey

"So many men, so little time" - Miquel Brown

"Wake me up (before You go go)" - Wham

"I'm too sexy" - Right Said Fred

"YMCA" - Village People

"I'm coming out" - Diana Ross

"Outside" - George Michael

"It's raining men" - Weather girls

"This is my life" - Shirley Bassey

I can dig R&B when I'm just chillin but on a bb stage it puts the audience to sleep unless you are a really dynamic poser like Shawn was.  A bb should pose to music that fits their physique and is somewhat entertaining to the audience.

Only because Kevin Levrone made it his, no one should poise to Creed or Staind.  I love their music though especially Creed.

Should all be classical and instrumental. Althought this would force these drones to educate themselves a bit.

Ever since Kevin posed to 'So Far Away' by STAIND in 2003...I seen a plethora of competitors on the local and national level use that song...it's embarassing!

In 2002 he used 'Who's Got My Back' which was one of the coldest posing routines I ever seen!!!

Hey nycbull...imagine if all the competitors posed to the tunes of Elton John, Cher, and Yanni...wouldnt that be DIVINE?

I like the movie score like Spider-man and Superman.  Chick did an awesome routine I believe at one of the Nationals using the music from Stargate (original film).  Superhero stuff works for bodybuilders because they are definitely put together like the comic characters.

Listen dude, I am supporting you as head Council member. Now I did not say pop music if you read my post carefully, it should be classical or operatic, it would lift this sport up from the white trash trailer park floor it is lying on. You know  its a good idea, you just can't deal with the fact as your first day as Council head you did not come up with it. Listen dude, I will be your Cyrano de Bergerac feeding you good ideas off to the side. I don't want any credit or pay. I am all about giving and sharing my incredible ideas and seeing this sport return to its full glory.

Dude also this, I would allow hard and heavy rock as long as it is the instrumental versions.

Definitely.  It's got the right message to it but the message gets old.

Tru...tru...I never assumed full responsibility of head of 'The Council'...240 MUST take that position for it is HIS destiny.

I appreciate the support though...I will do my best to maintain my status as respected member of 'The Council' though...

Hahaha... Ilove it when little bantam weights orlightweights come out to pose to like...'Sanatarium or For Whom The Bell Toll' by Metallica...hahaha...one time this 130lb bantam weight came out to 'Ace/Spades' by Motorhead and stalked the stage like he was a giant 300lbs mass monster guest posing...hahahahahaha!
