Chick- What were the exact changes made to Kings training/nutrition regimen the last week before the Montreal? How on earth can somebody change their physique so dramatically in a one week period?

Nothing special...just good old basics.
Reduced carb intake...kept cardio in...didn't carb up.
Brought waist down to create illusion of bigger arms/ legs, etc.
Better conditioning as a result of lowered carbs, holding much less water due to non-carbing up.

I laid out the plan, disgusted was there to put the final touches on the last 48 hours...and did a hell of a job IMO...

I have no problem with telling exactly what I did for King since what I did was based specifically on what needed to be done. Sadly most on here will either say BS or will not appeciate the info that I give, but some will so here it is.
Mon. thru Wed he did zero carb with mod fat in the form of steak and one salad daily consisting of 1 TB olive oil. Thur thru Sat. no carb and no fat. (OUCH) just chicken breasts. He ate 6 meals per day. Did 2 hours of cardio Mon thru Thur. On fri and Sat I did give him one steak early in the day as I did not want him to fade away. I kept his water intake high until later Sat night. On Sun morn he had about 4 very small carb meals up until about noon. Sips of water all morn long. Sodium was kept kind of high on Thur. and Fri. and low on Sat but NOT zero. BTW, I started working with King on Mon of last week.
I have known King for 6 years and have NEVER offered to help him unless he asked. So I guess that I was just waiting around for 6 years to get a chance to dry King out. ::) I have been in the game for over 20 years and to be honest I do this for fun and I really have no interest in becoming famous or rich from training people. I have turned down over 15 so far this year.

Joe worked with King from July of last year till the Europa show. He got King very lean. No matter how dry someone is for a show the more fat the less ripped so it was easy for me to be able to see what was underneath the water he was holding.

Face it, Disgusted is a wanted man now by many people who have seen what he did with King in a week.
Chick talks to King a lot - friendship in this matters. Of course Chick gives advice to King, because after the Europa show, King was down, and that is where friendship matters.

Aside from getting a raise in Olympia scrub money which is lower than the inflationary rate, he managed to define "REAL" Bodybuilding fans based upon the .com where they get their supplements, lobby for BOTH sides of the Don long comeback issue after successfully predicting the past regarding his comeback, and finally, clear all judges of any wrongdoing at the Masters World Pro.

its not like its rocket science guys....in one week he dropped some weight...stop eating and you can do the same...I know a pro from the 80s who wasn't all that huge but came in ripped to fu king shreds....All he did 2 weeks out was eat 3 cans of tuna a day and sipped on liquid meth in a bottle to get him by....

Thanks. King really suffered for this and not many people have the ability to handle that type of hunger and pressure. I also give him credit for giving me his total trust and commitment for that last week. There was a lot riding on this.

I beleive once King revalueates his physique, he will absolutly be able to win a small show. I hope he decides to quit playing the size game and strives for a more pleasing physique such as darrem or troy. If he starts from scratch im sure he'll be able to do some damage at spring shows anf possibly the Arnold. I think he should reconsider the olympia and focus on a spring show like the ironman and the Arnold for 07. That leaves King ample time to establish a normal offseason diet and work on building some QUALITY mass. Staying in a normal weight range during his offseason would also benefit him alot. Getting crazy fat in offseaon is for those who have the natural genetics to do so . He doesnt. Look for King to do damage in 07!

Yes, as Ron said, I was in Montreal. Actually it was Laval that we were in. I was going to do it all by email pics but decided to go on I think Tues. night after talking to King. I got there late Thur night and left Mon morn.

yup thats what it was....Although i don't know what Tony P did, this guy was from the east coast and only did a few pro shows....I won't say his name(95% won't know it anyway) but he got his pro card at the USA's as a middleweight...

Actually most of the haters here think he looked better and admitted it.
Many of us disagree with his placing above wolf but that has been proven to at the very least be legitimately debatable.

um why not just fly? a plane ticket is only a few hundred bucks, you probably spent a lot in gas, tolls, foods, etc, so why not be more expedient and fly in for the show?

I believe the person who did the best job in getting a bodybuilder into shape for the Montreal show was Chuck Rudolph. Chuck helped Quincy Taylor for the Montreal show.

Last minute ticket would have been about $1000 and a ticket was offered, but I really didn't mind driving escpecially considering the reason.

Some veggies and salads. I'm sure that most guys could ge themselves into great contest shape but it is the last week of drying out that confuses most guys.

1.5 gallons and increased slowly to 2.5 the day before. Cut it at arond 11pm but still drank small amounts in the morning. Oatmeal and pancakes. (small amounts) ;D Personally I don't think that it did much but make him feel a little better. Looking back I would have just given him some fat. He a very carb sensitive.

I've done my share of training people over the years and I am not free. ;D I just got burned out latley. Trained about 12 people last year and about 6 of them at once. Some were local so my weekends were pretty well loaded up. I also have a job so add to that training and trying to post on Getbig ;D and it doesn't leave much time for the wife. :'( I am just streamliining it way down this year.

Sometimes bber's need input,better eye,and someone to relax them due to nervousness or stress,which can smooth you out.look back 3 pages to the dry out 6 day's to show,zero carb and only protein ,unreal stress to put on body but it worked.i zero carbed few times only one day though to get dry ,it is brutal the day does not end quick enough,but you have to have faith in your trainer.

This was back in 2003. I was crossing Niagra I think. Anyway, I had some cash hidden in my bag, not that there was anything wrong with that, but I really didn't want the guy to see it. I had a knife in my car that I had forgotten that I had. A pretty nice one. He tried to take it from me. Prick was going to keep it for himself, but I knew that you could get a ticket for it and get it on the way back. He gave me a dirty look. ;D

High protein has a natural occuring diuretic/dehydrating efffect !!!
Lasix,s is way to harsh and not potassium spareing, dyazide is far much better , hey I thought Diuretics were baned !!! :D

One of the things that I have been trying to do for years is to find a way to dry guys out without using diuretics. I have done my homework on this. My guys are usually the dryest in the show plus they feel great on stage. I do some things that I did not mention and won't because I save this for the people that I am training. I hope they do ban them and test for them.

There are plenty of good herbal formulas out there that work very well , the trick is to get fluid moving through the system first before the dehydration process starts , distilled water and lots off it does this well, you have to be in abundance of fluid first to loose fluid !!

Matter of opinion then , due to lack of minerals the body doesnt hydrate as well and passes better , thus creating the fluid flow needed to start the dehydration process , it is this ongoing flow that is needed to get a good dehydrated effect, it tricks the body into ongoing passing which in turn flows on through out thee dyhydrating period ---- that has been my experiance with over 200 champions I have worked with over the years , but in saying that every individual has different needs and so it needs to be trailed prior to the show rather than just before the show !!! some clients shouldnt even dyhydrate at all !! most compettitiors start the dehydration phase already in a dehydrated state , thus all they acheive is pulling fluid out of the muscle cell thus greating a soft drawn look and not a dry crisp full look !!

Everyone has their own way of doing the dry out process. Bottom line is if it works. Sadly for over 90% of these guys it's hit or miss.

Serious question: Why all the secrecy among the industry "gurus" when it comes to pre-contest carb loading, drying out, carb depletion, fluid depletion, sodium manipulation etc .. .. ..
I mean, isn't it a fact that there is NO one correct way to do this that'll work on everone? Doesn't it vary from individual-to-individual, all things considered? Why not be upfront about it?

I don't mind answering questions and there really aren't any secrets, but the tuff part is close to the show and knowing when and how to change things up to keep losing bodyfat. Then comes the last 10 days or so when it seems that not too many guys can bring someone in dry. So I guees if there are any secrets is knowing when and how to adjust the program for that particular person. For example, I worked with King for the Montreal show for one week. Then I had two weeks for the AC show. I did things totally different for each show. The end result was that King was a tad bigger and a tad leaner for the last show. Mind you now that I am talking about last minute contest prep with very little time to do anything drastic so the changes were small, but there. The was enough time to lose a tad bit of fat and no time to put any real size on so I tried to have him come in fuller.

Great work you did w/Kamali for the Montreal show w/the limited anount of time you had to work w/him for that show.Everyone knows he sat out the Mr O but why did he sit out the grand prix tour?Wouldn't it have been beneficial for you both to have him qualify early for the Mr O in regards to your working w/him?

I think it would be more beneficial to king to qualify with high placing or a win at one of the smaller shows during the spring. He needs to gain some much needed respect from the fans.

For people like me ( the extremely carb sensitive) I have learned to use fat to stay full as well. I do use a small amount of carb (most dry oatmeal) but for the most part utilize the fat from the beef to fiil me out. I guess itake the Lee approach as to where i just roll into a show without changing anything. Cardio the whole way up tp the show and no carb up. If it aint broke why fix it? Are there any other carb sensitive competitors out there? If so ple comment and share your knowledge on coming in shredded.

Yeah and I think ths applies to more than just King. Look how many guys over carb and always come in spilled and or flat. It baffles me as to how some guys can keep making the same mistakes many times over.

Not against them, but there is no need to abuse them if you know how to peak fo a show.
Like to run prop up until 3 days out and sometimes even suspension all the way till show time. People worry too much about this drug or that drug. Dieting correctly is the key. I've seen plenty of guys who are pretty hard and dry 2 weeks out while using GH and test.
