As a former 5 Time Master's Mr. Olympia Champion I believe he's eanred it not to mention dude is 2 weeks out from the Mr. O and still one of "THE" Best posers in the game punking guys half his age.

I find it amusing that Vince Taylor would be bitching about natural bodybuilders. As I recall, Taylor was one of the guys who was MAJORLY affected by the drug test at the 1990 Olympia. Maybe it was a little jealousy on Vince's part, as he would have experienced first hand the undeniable reality that his pro level body was completely drug dependant. There wasn't much left of him off the drugs. And that was one scheduled drug test at the time of the contest, not random testing throughout the year. Under such conditions it is likely drugs were used up to a point in preparation for the competition.

Someone mentioned golfers and other professional sportspersons. Disregarding the correctness of making such comments at all, there is a significant difference between most sports people and pro bodybuilders, and it is a difference that makes comments such as those by Prince and other pro bodybuilders regarding natural bodybuilders, all the more objectionable. And laughable. Pro golfers, football players etc possess a skill. Sure, there are necessary physical attributes, but to compete successfully, it is necessary that they master the skill of the particular sport they play. The acquisition and/or possession of such skill is, in and of itself, admirable because such mastery is rare and it indicates that the person applied themselves diligently. So if such sportspeople then make deriding comments about people of lesser abilities, they are, at worst, arrogant. Afterall, the reality is that they are better at that particular sport due, primarily, to the fact that they are more skillful.

There is no real skill in pro bodybuilding. It doesn't take much diligence to have good genetics! And in these days of injectable bodyparts and boatloads of wonderdrugs, it is debatable whether pro bodybuilders do in fact have 'rare' genetic ability. There is no skill in shoving a needle in your arse, or in throwing pills down your throat. The role that drug use plays in obtaining a pro level physique is enormous. To those who doubt this, or wish to argue otherwise, I direct your attention to the 1989, 1990 and 1991 Olympias. Examine the photos and watch the videos. If that doesn't make you see the reality, I suggest you get your eyesight checked. So when a drug riddled pro bodybuilder puts down natural bodybuilding, it is not only arrogance. It is something more. Delusional maybe. Or perhaps an expression of underlying insecurities.

Yeah, I read that too, Ahmad. I was going to respond but it looked like ALOT of natural bodybuilders responded to his stupid comments. How incredible is it that a bodybuilder who has kidney problems from all the drugs he is using starts ranting and raving about how insignificant and terrible natural bodybuilders are? I remember going to see Vince Taylor at a seminar in Chicago the day after the 1996 Olympia. It was one of the worst seminars I ever saw. All he did was sit up there and bitch and moan about how there is no money in the sport and about politics, etc, etc. At one point, someone brought up natural bodybuilding (this is when MD was proclaiming itself to be the all new Natural Muscular Development) and Vince loudly said, "I HATE natural bodybuilders!" I guess he was upset about all the coverage and attention that was being given to the natural end of the sport. What was ironic was that the lack of money and sponsorship that is available in bodybuilding is directly attributable to the drug usage that is rampant in the sport. Why would a big corporate sponsor choose to spend their sponsorship dollars on a sport that is clouded in illegal drugs? If they cleaned up the sport, they would have a much better chance of attracting bigger dollars, IMO.

Does being at the prejudging- and dropping out during the prejudging-count as 'being in' the Olympia that year?

Just asking, not stating.

I once tried to figure out which pro 'dropped out' of the most IFBB pro contests, but did not pursue it. But the standard I used (totally arbitrary, of course) was that the man had to step foot onto the stage at the actual event- not the prejudging. Of course, various men dropped out of the actual show after different rounds. Confusing.

Oh, not at all.  i was being facetious. :)  I was just joking about their choice of IFBB athlete to choose on the one weekend of the year where there are no IFBB shows, and most of the top guys are in awesome shape.  Monster coincidence!

If Vince Taylor showed up for the 1990 Olympia and bowed out during prejudging due to "cramps", I believe that would constitute competing in the 1990 Olympia, coupled with a DNF or Ret. Otherwise anybody could quit after not getting "in the money" callouts to save face and deny they ever "competed" in the show.

Yea good choice.  It appears the european guys would have probably knocked you out of the prize money anyway.  So yea I agree you made the right choice in quitting BB.  Oh I mean going back to the NPC.  I mean IFBB.  Man have you qualified yet.  I can't remember what and where you are going these days.  Nice move.

total justice will be served when glanti retires with no pro card and a crappy reputation for lacking honor among men with his word. you know me keith (i have been here since 2001), i pull no punches. they will never give vin a pro card cause he trashed a lot of people in the NPC to wayne and it's no secret  ;D
